reminds me of Marc Cuban's argument against FIBA and the IOC
The greatest trick ever played was the IOC convincing the world that the Olympics were about patriotism and national pride instead of money.

now if i were to play mark cuban then i'll tell everyone straight up that i highly doubt it that all the major nba stars played for a per diem only especially the naturalized ones
maybe to the likes of luka and jokic and giannis money doesnt matter as long as they represent the motherland but i'm sure there are other players there who will ask for compensation or in the case of team usa a "stipend" provided they medal (USD100,000 is what they got paid during the olympics)
Pretty sure that the Paul George 2014 injury made players think twice about not getting compensated for their nteam duty, especially that they are gambling on their health ( long nba season grind)
