As a basketball system enthusiast for a decade now, that Gilas tuneup game against LG was fascinating basketball wise. For anyone versed with basketball playbooks, Tim Cone is actually running vanilla triangle offense. Gilas running methodical tri base post ups with Junemar as anchor, pinch posts and blind pigs is such a contrast to Chot's freewheeling 4/5 out offense. It is quite impressive that the team is actually running the triangle smoothly given the short amount or preparation. However, it remains to be seen whether this will still work in the international level. Despite Gilas running the triangle is eyecandy for the typical nostalgic coach, signs of success may say otherwise. There is too much post ups and midrange shots, and the slow pace and bad spacing is really primitive for the modern game. And I think this may be the downfall of this team in the long run. Our talent level would really have to compensate for us to get the wins.

I think its becoz in the KBL, while each team is allowed 2 world imports, only 1 import can play at a time. The LG Sakers wanted to simulate that in its tune-up game with Gilas.
btw can brownlee & kouame play together in the asian games? what's the rule on naturalized players?

Gilas opponents and scouts will be in for a surprise seeing the triangle back in FIBA play. I think it will be amusing to see the clash of styles in the coming asian games. Gilas will have to really revamp and go back to the drawing board after the games though as the numbers are not in favor with that system. There is a reason why the triangle has been abandoned in nearly all competitive play.
OT: can anyone help me? I cannot post directly without having to add a link in the post first. The forum says that I have to first add a link or photo before I can post. Thank you.

Would that guarantee an exemption with FIBA say in about 4 years?
