We will see how serious SBP is in this Asian Games if they still managed and conviced Kai to suit up.
mikey williams? can he play as a local? i agree on balungay but not francis lopez.

Yes sir he can, even if China employs the eligibility rules that Korea did way back 2014 (the 3 year residency). He'll meet the criteria. Only question is can SBP convince him kasi last Sea Games he already begged off from Gilas.

All good. Since i am only saying we add to the pool i would invite any of the following to start things off:

From admu amos, ballungay, and gamber
From dlsu mike phillips, kquiam, policarpio
        From up gagante, pablo, lopez,
        From feu anonuevo and pre
        ust sj moore

im not too familiar with the other teams yet including those in the ncaa but im pretty sure we can add to the pool.

Those not in the pba yet but finished with uni would be 1gdl, paras, tuffin, the ue wing whose name escapes me, lastimosa, and dalph
WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES

        P. Noval, A.H. Lacson, Dapitan, Espanya
        SANTO TOMAS APAT NA DAAN

this is a good SEA Games lineup as a starting point.

We will use uaap ncaa team b players for Asian Games 3x3, shows you that borrowing uaap satrs for asian games is quite far fetched
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

                UE wing? Payawal?

From the NCAA, I think we can add Sanchez, Puno, and maybe Oczon to the pool.

Just invite the amateurs to get them acclimatized to Gilas, not necessarily to join the Asiad pool, although a lot are welcome.

This will remain a pipedream as long as SBP is in charge of our non-existent cadet/developmental program.

That tells you that our 3x3 is divided and we have no program at all for 3x3. we didnt even participated in u23 asia nations league..

Yes, therein also preparing for the ASIAD too, logically, their Asian imports needed to be released if they are named for their national team. It's up to the player if they'll beg-off. It's totally different from the SEA Games, where we cannot call up the B.League boys since SEA Games is just a regional competition.

Pero di ba, who are the most important players after JC? Kai and dwight, both outside the PBA. I keep seeing konov or caelum or whoever should be in whatever tournament. Why not start putting them in the pool? Sure, maybe not available this coming asian games but if we look at it differently, why not make an expanded pool where we will get playera for majority of the international games? Dagdag ng hugot if most are not available for spwcific games. Otherwise, get from the pool. If thats how we will do it, then the pool will need to be mix of where players are from because non fiba games the bleague and kbl players wont be available, and pba playpff times, we might not be able to get there. Collegiate and a little from nonPBA local tes would need to be tapped. Dreaming is good and we shouldnt stop. Pero ang ginto sa lupa nakukuha. Sbp should always grow from the ground up. And fans should always demand that as well.
US-based players especially those who are in college can't play this ASIAD for the reason school season is underway and most of them preparing for their own tournament season.

understandably, focus is on WC. rightfully so. but, we cant not NOT put adequate prep time for "other" tournaments. it is disrespectful to the flag (bakit pa tayo sumali if we arent serious?), to the players (why are we sending an ill prepared team if there is no official team yet), and to the actual tournament and its organizers (why are we sending an ill prepared team if there is no official team yet).

are we sending more or less the WC team here too except Brownlee in place of JC? thats fine rather than hastily building a team. but, wouldnt some of these players want\deserve to rest? they have been practising and playing straight for months. they may not play in tip top shape if they continue on after the WC. and are they all (except JC) available by then?

curious though, shouldnt there be a guideline on the eligibility of the players by now? even if its China, eligibility rules for international games are often given a month or earlier to participants. even the last SEA games, the coaching staff knew you can send anyone as long as they have a passport earlier on. so i dont think this will be any different in terms of communicating certain rules.

Depending on eligibility rules, we could see BGR, Ross, Pringle, and Ballungay.

                              Perhaps even Laput and Lucero.

With Bahrain’s recent rise, our group is quite tough.

Jordan may not have superstar center Ahmad Al Dwairi for the Asian Games as he would be training with his pro team in Turkey by that time. Jordan isn't the same team w/o Al Dwairi. We can't look past Bahrain however. Bahrain swept its games in the recent Olympic Pre-qualifiers with wins over Saudi Arabia, Syria, India, Kazakhstan & Indonesia.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
