After the group stage, it's straight to knockouts.
If Gilas finish 2nd, we face the third-placer of Group D, which is either Qatar or Indonesia (let's face it, Japan and SoKor are top 2 in that group) for the quarters spot, then we face the first placer of group A (most likely Iran). If we top the group, we get an automatic quarters spot, and face either the 2nd-placer of Group A (most likely Kazakhstan) or the 3rd placer of Group B (either Mongolia or Hong Kong).

I will not underestimate Japan bro… We underestimate them last WC because they were in the group of death that includes Germany, Australia and Finland but they manage to win 1 out of 3 tough teams…they have a better system in Asian basketball..

That was with Tucker… I get it… but with RHJ, I think Jordan have slight edge over Korea, we saw how RHJ almost single handedly beat NZL in WC… And I know RHJ have angry towards Korean league because they didn’t use RHJ properly.. I think RHJ led Jordan will beat Korea… we also saw in PBA how good RHJ is, he beat super team Ginebra that has 4-5 Gilas player material plus super import Brownlee… RHJ is indeed a game changer…
I was referring to their second round form in the WCQ. It wasn’t great and they relied heavily on Al-Dwairi and Tucker to bail them out.
If Korea was there, Jordan would have had trouble than facing India. They qualified because India was not a challenger.

Things get tougher from there, though, as we face SoKor and Myanmar next. Hope we get at least 3 points against these girls.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Their last game in Singapore FIBA Intercontinental will on 24th and their first game in Asian Games on 26th…. So there is at least one day allowance in between these two tournaments… In the squad which is now in Singapore only 2 players were in 2023 Pre-Olympic qualifiers last August and they are Rasheed brothers (Mustapa “Mosti” and Ali). And their star swingman Zee Hamoda is reportedly returned with Sacramento State for incoming US NCAA season. So most likely their starting unit in Hangzhou will be quite different from the crew that gained a berth for 2024 Olympic qualifying tournament. Well, if that’s the case our Gilas has an edge against them… I posted before that Bahrain in Asiad in stronger than Gilas well I should have waited till participating teams has release their respective rosters. My bad…

Yeah… Tucker is good but he’s a normal import if he plays in the PBA.. he might be axed by any PBA team even he put good numbers because he’s not an impact player (he was even outplayed by JB in their match last February).. but with RHJ, he’s so very talented and he goes all out… I just say if no JB and RHJ for TNT and Ginebra, I will put my money on ginebra every day… but RHJ can make things happen for TNT that even they are heavy underdogs, they manage to beat Ginebra’s star studded line up.. same goes for Jordan.. they even hang on vs Greece in the first 3 qtrs before Jordan can’t hang on vs more talented Greeks… I was hoping he was being naturalized by SBP.. he’s very fit for young gilas bigs such as AJ and Kai… but SBP wasted that opportunity… w/ RHJ leading them, Jordan can still manage to qualify for 2027 WC.. RHJ is just only 30 something, still on his prime years…
