Is this JB's first offense? If so, he will get off relatively lightly.

The FIBA penalties for testing positive for THC are as follows:
    • The first offense results in a warning and a public disclosure of the violation.
    • The second offense results in a two-game suspension and a fine of 20% of the player’s salary or 10,000 Swiss francs, whichever is higher.
    • The third offense results in a five-game suspension and a fine of 50% of the player’s salary or 25,000 Swiss francs, whichever is higher.
    • Any subsequent offense results in a ban of at least two years, which may be reduced to one year if the player agrees to a treatment program.

Some vloggers are saying "2 or more" Gilas players must be tested positive for Gilas to be stripped of the gold medal.

The statements "more than two" & "2 or more" are completely different.

When you say "more than two players", it means at least 3 players. When you say "2 or more players", it means at least 2 players.

Careless or inaccurate reporting can change the context of the subject or the matter significantly.
The bar for accuracy even for our media guys are very low...for vloggers it's basically "believe at your own peril."

I have a feeling majority of Chinese fans are convinced that they lost to Gilas in the semis fair & Square & that they aren't buying any attempt by Chinese basketball to use the doping issue on Gilas & Jordan players as a justification for China's dismal bronze medal finish in the Asiad. So much for that doping sourgrapes.

And another thing, Is JB already using this even in the PBA? Is PBA allowed players to use weeds? And PBA has that Anti-Doping test? I think with this issue, maybe it's time that PBA should have drug testing every year, maybe two or three times per season (Random only)... Maybe more PBA players are also using some illegal substance w/o knowing who are they... This is already 2nd time PBA player already caught by WADA....

About the US,On the federal level, cannabis remains illegal. The federal government classifies cannabis, along with heroin and cocaine, as a Schedule I drug with a high potential for abuse and little to no medical benefit. For example you bought your medical marijuana in Cali, then cross the state line and you got stop by state police, you do the time.

In the history of doping cases...was there ever a case, similar to Brownlee in which the accused athlete's case was dropped and or proven innocent?
also in Brownlee's case the one who collected the samples were the China Anti Doping Agency.

Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Bambol Tolentino bares Justin Brownlee is taking medication for his injury even before the World Cup, according to SBP, that could possibly be the cause of the ITA findings in his doping test.

so hopefully people will get why these athletes need to get paid for nteam duties for scenarios like this. 2 yrs of income lost in the event of fiba suspension

Though brownlee is also at fault here, pretty sire they are aware of WADA’s prohibited list.

Damn. So if the 2-year suspension is upheld, that's basically 2 years of lost income for JB from basketball-related pursuits (though i hope SMC has something in order now for him). He really has to appeal that decision, no brainer. 2 years is just too damn long.

Dang, if JB will be suspended for 2 years, he won't be serviceable for Gilas once the penalty is done.

I'm confident JB can give good reason/explanation, before he join gilas in europe camp he went to a "non-basketball medical procedure" maybe this is the reason i hope...

2 year suspension at his age i doubt that he can come back to his old form. sana 1-3 months lang.
