Him being buddies with Li Nan, one of the coaches involved in the game fixing scandal and probably because of China now being open on hiring naturalized players ( Yao only wants players with Chinese lineage to take the Naturalized spot)

I simple don’t understand why BGR was not included in the proposed training pool considering the bulk of the World Cup bound will comprise the AG line-up. I know he is FIBA ineligible for now same with Sedrick Barefield but as per OCA they are eligible to play because I think they’ve already satisfied the required 3 years residency to all aspiring half-breeds. As for Michael Philips, Mason Amos and KQuiam we have to fully understand that they are fully committed with their respective schools.
In fairness to SBP, maybe they are also considering the budget on each headcount if they will include additional warm bodies for that propose European and China training asde from that recently released 21 pool..

I agree with you in cost. Cost is always a consideration even for big companies. Because it might snowball if we don't check it. Some people even act like its so easy to fund a program or spend money when they dont spend a dime themselves..

I hope Justine Baltazar, Sedrick Barefield and BGR may be included for AG 2023 training pool after this World Cup.

To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                  1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

I loathe this infatuation with the Asian Games. Going way back to the BAP days, the narrative that the PBA wanted was that because they couldn't commit to FIBA Asia (when it was still the ABC) with the PBA schedules... the Asian Games was THE ONLY continental competition that mattered.

Also to blame then was the BAP (pre-SBP) because sending teams to more competitions meant eating into their PSC funding so they were fine sending college players and guys from the MBA who just graduated from college to ABC-level competitions where the Philippines rarely played Iran, Lebanon, and Qatar when they were starting to get really good (Adducul was BAP's poster boy, in the ABC All Star Game vs the PBA... a pre-Ginebra Adducul had been a 3-time ABC All Star)

Forget the Asian Games, just send the best available Fil-Ams and whoever's left from the SEA Games. If Gilas loses both games in the first window of FIBA Asia Cup qualifying happening weeks after the Asian Games.. the SBP will be in deeper shit than they were after sabotaging Tab Baldwin's program. I really want Gilas to get drawn with both Mongolia and Guam who have a 2-year headstart while Gilas will be starting from scratch after the World Cup.

Yup, thank goodness it ain't that serious and only need some ample rest and rehabilitation. I really like the commitment on this dude as far as playing for the country are concern compared to his Kuya Mat whom I think is still a horrible free throw shooter and has a baldog jumpshot...no improvement at all just a typical office employee(s) just waiting for next 15/30 payday.

everyone was expecting him to be the next gabe norwood but ended up being a bust, i hope norwood retire with rain or shine as he is the first cornerstone of that franchise and the penulmate professional of a national team player
