It shows that SMB have led the league in offensive rating by a mile in the past two All-Filipinos. Led by 6.3 with an ORTG of 111.3 in the All-Filipino last year, and by 6.8 with an ORTG of 116.6 in this All-Filipino so far.
Maybe they shouldn't have sold their top players to them and their sister teams in the first place if they want to win? You know it's going to happen again and again especially now that some of their players are washed

Yeah, it's partly Terrafirma's fault for selling CStand, which allowed SMB to get Mo, then CJ. Jericho and Brondial were UFA's, and Trollano was from NLEX via NorthPort.

I was talking about RoS as well in terms of gameplan.

      • Analysis from Bakits as to why MERALCO and SMB won: https://www.facebook.com/izeizeburne...TzwxTABoH5Trzl

He says that MERALCO turned Ginebra into a 1-on-1 team. CStand got going at the expense of the heavily-guarded shooters.

As for SMB, RoS couldn't get their early offense going, and SMB just got contributions from their bench of Don Trollano, Terrence Romeo, Jericho Cruz, and Mo Tautuaa.

        • As I've said before, Trollano is the key addition to this current SMB run that started last conference. Since they swapped Arwind for Manuel their offense at times stagnated. Then in comes Trollano and they play him at 4. This guy is a guard/small forward for his whole PBA career then SMB makes him play a lot of PF minutes. But it works. Trollano at around 6'2 may give away 6 inches to Keith Datu or several pounds to Santillan but he does just enough on defense and rebounding that allows his contribution to the other end make an impact. With Trollano at the 4 you have 4 guys you can't leave open at the perimeter and you have the most dominant player in the PBA on the paint. With Trollano at the 4, SMB can somewhat recapture the dynamic of their death 5. JMF si more open. Lassiter is more open. It's not perfect. Trollano is a decent defender but not at Arwind's level. But he is a better shooter.

If ROS can't abuse Trollano at the 4 then there will be more blowouts. He just gives too much spacing on the other end.

The arena's aesthetics looks great on TV. SBP should consider hosting a Gilas home game there.

Honestly, the PBA should give a semi-regional approach a try. Give the less popular teams in the PBA a fanbase (ROS, Meralco, Converge, Phoenix). There many beautiful courts out there (Dasma, SJDM Court, UST, Alonte) to be filled by a home crowd. It is impossible that these people will choose Ginebra over their beloved city or province.

                    It's a sweep or 5.

Man, SMB are too good in an All-Filipino setting. They have the firepower, and know how to use and maximize it. It will take a team that can exploit their weaknesses AND match their firepower to beat them.

                      • Dwight rocking the SMB Championship shirt at the Adamson-La Salle game earlier.

Dwight, who has signed a contract extension with his Japan B.League side Levanga Hokkaido, said he had the shirt for a couple of days now and decided to cut the sleeve because it can’t fit his arms.

He shared a member of the SMB coaching staff gave it to him.

Coincidentally, San Miguel seized its 3-0 lead after a win over Rain or Shine in their Philippine Cup semifinal series on the same day.

                        Is he a fan?

“Yeah, I can say, I know everyone, I know all of them, and I’ve watched their games,” he said.

If bakits can dig deeper, its cstan not being the receiver what will hurt ginebra more just like this game..tonight he miss 7 fts, Ginebra lost by 7, not helping is scottie being a bad ft shooter either dont know who teach the free throw psychology in ginebra camp..

the lost of Maliksi matchups Gray and Malonzo hurting them in this game..And Mavericks game is just a placeholder for an elite guard (isnt holt becaus ehe isnt a shooter)
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                          1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

People will get mad but Dwights game is more Don Trollano than an ideal lassiter replacement (which is better for Gilas cause)

Ive been saying this for a time now. GSM is CS’s team. He generates good looks for his teammates. He is actually their best creator not Skati. Skati was 2/13 at one point and -18. The problem is Meralco has the tandem of Almazan and Bates to defend CS at single coverage. No assists for him. So the others need to create for themselves. TC always had a big man facilitator. Whether it was DeVance, Pingris or Hawkins. Without CS facilitating their offense is limited.

SMB on the other hand has good enough players to exploit JFs gravity. This game he did not score well. But Trollano, CJ and Marcio made up for it.
