As much as how the likes of Andy Jao, Quinito Henson, Sev Sarmenta, et al, still have place in the league, those veterans obviously won't be around forever. To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

we dont have a strong second league like pbl since this teams are in the pba anyway (Northport bw, and terra) You can consider phoenix as one too.
MPBL is 3rd division level while uaap/ncaa act himself like us ncaa.. thats to foreign leagues we dont see elite talents play college ball until 25
the second league should be at par on what abl star players is paying while for pba on what asian elite leagues are paying..To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

EASL starts in October. PBA starts in October. I hope the first conference allows up to 2 imports and an Asian import/naturalized player, just to help TNT and Ginebra build chemistry for the October to February tournament.
Pride is what’s at stake in the EASL Champions Week in Japan on March 1-5 as powerhouse teams from the host country, Korea, Taipei, Greater China and the Philippines gather to decide bragging rights with the bonus of a $250,000 first prize.
Under EASL rules, a team is allowed to enlist two foreigners and a naturalized player or Asian heritage import. In Bay Area’s case, coach Brian Goorjian is lining up Barefield, a Fil-Am widely known as a Mikey Williams play-alike, instead of a naturalized player. San Miguel and TNT are currently playing in the PBA Governors’ Cup with only one import so they’re bringing in a second reinforcement for the Champions Week.

Hong Kong-based Bay Area Dragons will again seeing action in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
“The first conference will be the Commissioner’s Cup with a height limit of 6-foot-9 and below,” said commissioner Willie Marcial at the close of the Board annual planning session.
The Dragons are going to tap anew import Andrew Nicholson for the opening conference.
“OK na sa Bay Area,” said Marcial, who had a meeting with Dragons CEO Matt Beyer.
Ginebra defeated Bay Area in last season’s finals that reached Game Seven and played before a record crowd of 54,589 at the Philippine Arena.
After the Commissioner’s Cup, the all-Filipino conference will commence in January of 2024.
There won’t be a Governors’ Cup for the coming season.

to those who would argue that the additional imports will displace local players, they will just occupy 2 roster spots and if you’re presenc in the league is threatened by imports then you are simply not good enough, thats why you have the pba 3x3, mpbl, psl etc

After all the humiliation in the EASL and SEAG they still insist on that stupid height limit.
And to buttress CoJ's point, imports serve as quality control for their positions and ceiling raisers, both literally and figuratively. We don't have too much height and quality at 4 and especially at 5.

Having a 2nd import is a foreign concept to the leadership. And besides, you can choose to deploy one or two world imports. You don't need to hire two.

For starters, the 2nd import slot could be given to a FSA if the league doesnt want OP imports that could humiliate the league. This could also be helpful if we want to file FIBA exemptions (establish residency) esp if the FSA is here prior turning 16
and for those who will get displaced by additional imports, heck the minimum pay of the pba could be matched by mpbl and ligang labas anyway. Plus the East Asian diaspora opens roster spots anyway
