Originally posted by IPC View PostCarl Tamayo scoring a total of 6 points and grabbing 2 offensive rebounds in 16 total minutes this weekend. Foul trouble did him in yesterday.
Still up to 6.3 PPG on 53% shooting (71.6% from 3), 4.3 ORPG (1.5 ORPG), 1.3 BPG. Hope he can increase his scoring output and stay on the floor as the season goes long.

The question is RJ, will his coach have patient and will allow his adlib in offense.

Hopefully he gets more consistent in his offense as the season progress.

If to choose between a 6-foot-5 player & 6-foot-7 one of equal skills, athleticism, basketball I. Q., quickness & other qualities, I would always prefer the taller one."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Another advantage that Tamayo has over RDO is experience. At an early stage of his career, Carl is already being exposed internationally and is continually seeking higher competition. Playing against imports regularly will make him stronger.

Plus, FIBA experience in 20-21 years of age is never a bad thing, and he has performed there.

imo tamayo is already better overall than RDO at age 22. at 22 RDO was still playing against NCRAA & later PBL players. his only international exposure at that point was prolly those friendly games featuring pbl all-stars vs angola or some other african team. the only thing RDO is better at is vertical leaping ability, young/prime RDO often played above the rim
