This early, ai really don't like how they utilized Carl. Most possessions he just standing in the corner or elbow in the weak side. So the other can do PnR plays at the strong side. Usually get his shot off from kick outs but usually he just pass the ball to reset the play. I wish they do more weak side movement or 45 cuts for Carl.

I agree. They let the world import do more on offense while the rest stand in the weak side for kick outs like Ray unless he is the one in PnR. Kief is in a better situation has more freedom but his teammates are really not good..

The question is RJ, will his coach have patient and will allow his adlib in offense.

i'd like to see carl develop into a draymond green type of player - he has both the size and potential to do that, he's not as athletic as green but he has the cojones and mental toughness of green in him.

Its not mental toughness that makes draymond like that. Its competitiveness and IQ. I dont think theres any player in the world with that.

If they watched him last year, I hope they knew how they'd be able to showcase his full potential.

carl is already on his way into becoming a bigger & better RDO, and that is not a bad thing. i don't see any draymond green in him, and neither do any other basketball player not named draymond green

                    • as for RJ, he's currently on a very short leash. a turnover or missing an ill-advised shot can get him pulled out of the game. their starting point guard is a good passer & ballhandler but doesn't contribute anything else, can't shoot or score and is an even worse defender than RJ

Well, it helps that Tamayo is at least 2 inches taller than RDO.

If to choose between a 6-foot-5 player & 6-foot-7 one of equal skills, athleticism, basketball I. Q., quickness & other qualities, I would always prefer the taller one.

This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                          • Another advantage that Tamayo has over RDO is experience. At an early stage of his career, Carl is already being exposed internationally and is continually seeking higher competition. Playing against imports regularly will make him stronger.

And he's not just playing against Japanese teams. He is and will be playing against top sides in SoKor, Taiwan, and the Philippines. That top competition will further sharpen him as he gets burn and as long as he stays on the court.

Plus, FIBA experience in 20-21 years of age is never a bad thing, and he has performed there.

                              • imo tamayo is already better overall than RDO at age 22. at 22 RDO was still playing against NCRAA & later PBL players. his only international exposure at that point was prolly those friendly games featuring pbl all-stars vs angola or some other african team. the only thing RDO is better at is vertical leaping ability, young/prime RDO often played above the rim
