He was succesful with his minutes before, now that the injured World import is back he's relegated to garbage minutes for now.He has the size and skill and he was doing just fine,he needs more reps and he will take it up another notch. He might have to switch to KBL lower pay and a shorter league with 1 import at a time, but he will shine and possibly dominate the smaller Koreans in that combo forward position.
I really dont know why Ryuku no. 15 YOSHIYUKI MATSUWAKI has more PT at SF than CT. CT as better shooting than him. I mean what does CT need to do to even get that local player minutes. I just hope that the reason might be health, if not his team doesn't know how to use him.
You mean he plays alongside a local PG? Doesn't sound ideal to me for his Gilas development. But hey if he wants to be a Steph-like PG, that' s not bad at all.
not always, but that was the case in the game against ryukyu. rj ended up defending and getting defended by 6'3" imamura and did pretty well. shinshu has 3 point guards and they all get to play at least 15 mins per game, rj's the tallest and best playmaker among the 3. the other PG is a rookie but rj is still younger

Carl is a 4, not a 3. Last year, the team had a good big rotation in Cooley, Duncan, and Durham, the latter two of whom can play 4. This year, Ryukyu had Kirk and Law as their third imports. Pero oo nga, no. Law can play SF, and Carl can spell Durham and Cooley. And Carl already got opportunities to start the season, although it's a mystery on how he lost those opportunities, and they were winning when he got them. Anyways, Carl can always look to the EASL for playing time and opportunities to prove himself midseason.
So you were really concerned about Carl's PT, and the development of our young guys in Japan. I thought you were being passive-aggressive about the Japan teams (sorry for thinking that, line of questioning mo lang kasi minsan).

Carl can play SF there. And he did in their first few games were he was doing good. Is not like he is defending a elite and quick opponents there
Of course I am concern of CT development. He is a gilas material player and if he develops their thats great but how will it be done if he will not play.
Still not high on B.League teams because of their to much emphasis on world import plays unlike KBL who moves the ball and players better. I still remember how San en told fans they will make Thirdy PG in their team.

It’s unfortunate that guys like Carl have to chose between money and PT. I’m curious how our homegrown bigs will fare in KBL. The guards have been good with RJ and now SJ. Our “small” forwards like Abando and Dave have been improving in their perimeter skills. I am not including the overseas bred guys because their size, athleticism and skill is different from the homegrowns. Its too bad Jerom was too loyal to Adamson. I dont expect much from Oczon but would be pleasantly surprised if he develops into a PG in the KBL.

I disagree about Carl playing sf, he looks awkward and is slow defending the perimeter, he really is more of a stretch 4/5, also his team when he is out there has him guarding the imports as well as locals and he has problems on defense.
I will say in terms of playing time for bigs KBL would be a better option, less competition. I don’t think bleague coaches are generally biased on playing time I mean Pinoy guards get plenty of playing time in the league but the bigger positions are harder to crack since realistically no Pinoy forwards\bigs other than Aj and Kai would realistically get minutes since they aren’t at the level of international imports.
If we look b league as nba of asia.. we sre looking at a bust watch for carl tamayo unless he will be farmed(loaned ) to a lower tier b league team ala dweet or aj edu
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

22 years old and it's not as if he's as useless as a Carino or a Balti in Japan, he's competing against imports (not locals) for minutes and likely facing them in practice everyday. He hits open shots and can take players off the dribble when given minutes. I don't remember the max age for PBA draft applicants that already played abroad like Juan GDL (maybe 26?), but I'd give it the Pinoy treatment of 24 or bust just like I'm still patient with a soon-to-be 22 year old Kai Sotto. If Tamayo gets another B-League contract, it'll probably be his last before coming home.

We don't have anyone under 25 6'7 or above ATM who can do the same. Even pros will get benched when playing the same positions as world imports

In fairness, Hiro needed a backup C. Balti’s published height there of 6’10 might have added to the confusion. If Balti went to a team looking for a backup PF he mightve had more minutes.

Fucking Quinito Henson. He really believes adding 2 or 3 inches to a player's actual height on the Philippine Star does a player favors. 2000's palang, ganun na siya.

I hope before the season is over that he gets to average over 10mins a game, the coach is having a hard time when to insert him, when the World Imports are on the floor, but we definitely saw that he can play the SF position very well even when guarded by World Imports.

Quinito thinks Kai might be 7'4 or taller, even the Japanese measure Kai at 7'216,he stopped growing at 17,like an ordinary person,Quinito doesn't think that if you're still growing in your late teens to 20s is normal, that's freaking giantism, that's a health issue.
