  • i wonder how the kainatics will feel if kiwi mojave king goes in the lottery this year?

only in the philippines where a "minicamp invite" is spun into a major headline when in other countries its at best an asterisk if reported at all.

reality check gentlemen, the mere fact kai is in the bleague works against him getting to the nba. yes, the monetary gain is better in the bleague than say the nbl but nba teams don't have "bleague" high on their scouting list. heck i'm sure 3rd division european leagues are given more weight by nba scouts as opposed to any asian league.

Goes to show again how way way of people are in realizing what Kai's real status is as not a serious prospect. the NBA literally has spoken for the last 3 summers confirming Kai is not a serious prospect. furthermore Waadenberg was voted top U 23 NBL player (next generation player) while Kai wasn't even a top 5 candidate .. so what are u saying ???

Again, you typed so many words just to say with few meanings …

Waldenburg is a 25yo FA (4yr-College player and 1yr Pro)
Kai is 21yo (3yr International Pro)

One is already finished product while the other still got potential.

Misleading again without full context of how draft upside prospects are assessed

1st Sam is 24 yrs old , 2nd his last 2 years has improved from year to year, ( a late bloomer) 3rd last draft was Sam's 1st NBA attempt , he's still in the 2 year window from 1st attempt for 2 way contracts, got Euro contract.

Now Kai, yes he is just 21 , his last 3 pro seasons has littirally stagnated , in the critical freshman to Junior college age years (super red flag trajectory), this is Kai's 3rd summer to attempt to make the NBA. , so essentially outside the 2 year window to be signed on a 2 way development contract, furthermore he's already been assessed to not improve in last 3 years , so argument thst he has upside potential depite being 21 is gone, and irrelevant (verdict is if he didn't improve from 18 to 21 , it's given he won't from 21 to 24 ), got B league Asian import (not open) contract

BTW forgone conclusion Sam won't make the NBA, which tells you how much more Kai's chances are nil.

And finally you conveniently left out Mojave king in the conversation

This is the thing, when presented witb the full truth, all the info hype being spread, becomes misleading .

        • kihei clark is very unlikely play in the nba, he's prolly being scouted for a g league team or something, he has a great agent. even remy martin who's bigger, better, more athletic couldn't make it to the nba. he's 5'7" without shoes, how many nba players had that height and is he as good or better than them?

I agree, Kihei, Martin, Waardenberg all won't make the NBA, and Kai is in a similar boat if not worst, which puts into context how much hype exaggeration Kai is getting as a prospect

None of the former 3 have ever received remotely close the same expectations and hype as Kai has and is receiving, that's the point .

No one Is making kihei LA invite to mean anything, unlike Kai with statements like he's a step closer to making the NBA (Sayson Spin) , which is downright deceiving

              • funny how homer sayson was crucified and called a "yellow journalist" by kainatics before when he reported not so good news about kai in the past but now they embrace him as if he's now some pulitzer prize winning journalist

Kihei Clark, Remy Martin and Sedrick Barefield will demote a lot of tenured PBA (if teams are willing to pay) guards to the MPBL.

Technically, Kai is really a step closer if he shows out at the Summer League. No guarantee he'll make it, but it's a "step towards the right direction".

Yes of course if he performs.well in SL it improves NBAs staff impressions on him (which is so negative currently), but in real context , it's like he has 1 % now and if he somehow plays well in SL it improves to 3 %. Obviously im just throwing relative #s, out. . Thing is in terms of possibility of making NBA, Kai shoild have no more expectations or hype as Remy Martin, who actually is more deserving to be a reasonable prospect.

when you think about it Remy as a Filipino passport holder shoold be receiving more media attention than Kai as a NBA prospect, but we all know it isnt even remotely close to all the Kai hype, it puts into context how over hype the attention Kai is getting.

and to think Remy was a key member of Kentucy that won the NCAA championship. Not to mention that he play in a higher level basketball environment throughout his career. But,he is not homegrown, and we all know how mainstream media's pinoybaiting practice

                          • Just to be clear, I'm not referring to the level of promotional media mileage (hype) Kai is getting , which is expected , being homegrown etc, but i'm taking about the level of seriousness as a prospect , absolutely Remy is actually more of a serious NBA prospect than Kai is. ( but media that report on him (mostly US) do not give over exaggerated expectations , while local media on Kai have super unrealistic expectations. Big difference

                            • How about the rest of the Jazz camp attendees, have they been reported on, and it's only kai thst is well known to be attending .. well it's their job to fit as much publicity as possible , milk the media mileage attention,
