It's not so much that , but that it's premature to confirm completion of SL roster , without even knowing who one is to draft and even if they will keep the draft pick. The best you can say is a player like Kai is shoo in , much like selecting the final WC for Gilas, Gilas management can't confirm Dwight Ramos as.much a shoo in he is that he is already confirmed to make the final 12 , that's premature..

like has any player confirmed a 100 % they will join a specific SL team already?
Like what if Dallas for example draft 2 centers and trades for a 3rd young big who was drafted last year , therefor Kai becomes super redundant.

In your zeal to police every post that isn't in line with your thinking, you entirely missed my point.

My point was that, teams wouldn't change their minds on whether to sign Kai for SL just because of what Homer wrote and which he later backtracked. So let's not use the Homer Sayson excuse why teams wouldn't sign Kai for SL.

          • Who the f*ck is this homer sayson??? Has he been instrumental in obtaining multimillion dollar contracts for pro players? Or is he a buko juice vendor in the pba? Is he some kind of player scout, or cub scout?

So, what is he doing near kai sotto's camp as would entitle him to having his opinion read by many people? Does he have exclusive, trustworthy opinions?

But then again, this thread has this new zealander who just has to squat and post thousands of dry, meaningless comments in the philippine forum. This guy believed kai will never make it to the nba with obviously contrived narratives. The fact is kai got to play in nba camps, which no local pinoy ever did.

It will really help if mostly valuable information on up and coming pinoy or filfor players are posted here.

                    • Is genuinely supporting Kai to achieve his optimal best nut hugging? We have supported MP when he was an unknown boxer plying his trade in Blow by Blow in the mid-90s. Is all this talk about Kai and his NBA journey really far or is he really near? It would be really too stupid for the NBL to create articles about Kai and his NBA dream if it is really 1% achievable.lol

                      • Independent of Kai, these are the odds any undrafted player is up against to secure one of the only 2 , two way contracts allocated per team. I single out 2 way, as 10 day contracts are only done from January , while guaranteed contracts do not fit the profile of young FA who recently went undrafted .
1st teams normally reserve their limited 2 ways to their draft picks this year and last. .so that's on average 4 players per team they prioritize for only 2 spots. .
2nd unlike drafting where a team can secure a players rights and stash him overseas (Travers and Besson), for an undrafted FA , teams cannot do this (stash) , but have to use a roster spot on a player who is still developing not ready to use . So it's really counter to purpose and at odds to do this, sign a FA for upside . this is evident with the number of FA signed after going undrafted and unsigned a year after their draft year is almost zero.

                        • The NBA is adding more two-way contract slots to rosters
The NBA will now allow teams to carry three players on two-way contracts to their active rosters. Two-way contracts were new to the CBA in 2017, created to help teams develop younger players.Apr 1, 2023

                              • The moat likely impact of increasing 2 way contracts by 1 more per team, is actually on players who are already signed on a 2 way contract the year before, so instead of having to either give them a guaranteed full contract or cutting them, players like Jack White can be extended to another 2 way contract, while still allowing for incoming draft entries to be accommodated on a 2 way.

Essentially it will impact existing 2 way contract players and incoming rookie entrants 1st before leaving what's left to prior undrafted players.
this is evident (Proof ) by who gets 2 way contract, 95 % are from concluded draft and 2 way 2nd year extensions .(go ahead and check). Absolutely there is a pecking order who is priority for 2 ways, recent drafted and 2nd year extensions of 2 way , before looking at undrafted FA from previous drafts. Obvious logical why this is the case as essentialy 2 ways are the next best sixty 19 to 23 year old prospects not selected in 1st round in last 3 drafts. Which Kai is not based on GMs decisions .(combine invite etc)
Look at cimplete list of 2 way contracts for recent season below they are almost either
                                1. Rookie who entered in recent 2022 draft or drafted in prior drafts 2021 or earlier or
2.NBA vet who was contracted already in previous year . (Extended)

Active NBA players with two-way contracts for the current season (2023-24)
