@ zairex that is indeed the knee jerk reaction , they view it as Hate and negativity , not realising that the root cause that brought the perception of "hate" is mainly because 1, people don't like being corrected and 2. If you worship someone , then anything that sound critical is viewed as hate.. it's really the same , whether you put Japeth, Paras or say for argument sake Mason Amos was the super big trend.. ( and people overhyped to the point where they really believe Cone , that he was a 6'7 Alan Caidic, therefore NBA material. anyone who goes to that level of hero worship will get the same reaction , then Mason fans will cry , why are you so critical of just a young 18 year old boy. u had it coming with the hero worship ! its one thing to be happy for kai and to wish him all the luck to make the nba yet its another story when fanatics are bitter with him not getting drafted, continue on overhyping him as a better player compared to top ranked prospects and hall of famers, and blatantly dismissing what the "real experts" take on kai is up to the point that they'll call a hall of famer a moron.

Well I'm admittedly unapologetic a fan of NZ basketball who I'm involved with, in the context of Philippine and Asian Basketball ( this thread ), repetition aside , there is no over hyping NZ . As indeed in the World cup aside from Australia they are by far the most competitive team in the Asia Pacific region, their number of wins in WC last 5 editions is more than all Asian teams combined. , but I totally get it that rubs of in the wrong way , this being a Philippine basketball section, so my apologies, but there is really no hype exaggeration.

Where is statement in my post citing people are against his opportunity? Have you read what is being insinuated with a mere 2 day camp invite , given to hundreds, and the reaction when it is accurately described for what it really is ( not to make to much of it, (not to hype)

As Sports Illustrated Tim Legler correctly stated there actually is NO hype with Wembanyama, huh , why , depite all the promotion? He explains because it's no exaggeration that he is considered one if not the best prospects in history, it's actually true . .

Mere promotion if legit is not hype , it's when you exaggerate that it becomes over hype

now simple question is Kai considered even a serious NBA prospect by experts? If not then absolutely it's exaggeration hype to claim he has a serious shot of making the NBA, very simple logic right

I think it is best for Analyze to just create a thread about NZ prospect. You should be posting your fantasies on how NZ created an unknown who will be a guaranteed next Durant. You could also fantasize in your dreams on how Ben "Fool's" Gold would dominate the entire US NCAA. We dont overhyped Kai and we are just too positive with his chances. If Wass who is a super influential agency believes in Kai, then how much more we his supporters. Who would stupidly compare Kobe's journey to Kai when Kobe cant even dominate HS bball. Kai dominated and made a killing in his first year in the US.

Every one was paying Kai top dollar eversince, are they all insane paying someone if he is not worth it?lol Kai was the third highest paid Ignite player in his batch, is the NBA too foolish with how they valued Kai at that time? Kai will resigned with Hiro because he will be paid around 800k or more next season.lol Isaac Tofu wont be near his pay grade.

How about we compare peak Al Dwairi and Peak Asi? Proven Euroleaguer Al Dwairi cant even dominate a very young and weak Kai Sotto. Kahit isama mu pa si Isaac Tofu.haha

If Kai was not NBA worthy, then why did Ignite pay Kai third highest and the fourth and fifth players are current NBA players? The entire NBA ignite personnels were so wrong in assessing Kai and only Analyze was absolutely correct regarding Kai. They should be hiring analyze as player assessment head for his takes are superb and one of a kind.

Just curious with the Kai Sotto - Hiroshima continuation/signing news? that is not an actual contract right since Kai is testing his NBA chances (Kai definitely have no contract obligations to make his possible NBA "contract" clear of any other overseas contract) that Hiroshima signing is like some type of Letter of Intent when Kai decides to return to Japan right?

Did Hiroshima/B-League did this - for the possibility that if KAI gets his NBA chance - KAI would then reflect on his NBA Appearance Detail Card like:
"From: B-League Hiroshima Fireflies - Japan" (not "ADL 36ers Australia" or "Gilas Philippines National Basketball Team")
