Why some just can't be happy with the opportunities of other people that they work so hard for it. Like how people mock a student for having scholarship grants. They don't even have any info on what is happening.

People actually are happy for the opportunity, I am. What people are unhappy about is agsin the overhype to make things more thsn they really are . As said many times here by many , people don't hate Kai they hate the overhype and the Pinoys who overhype.. this is legitimately poor behavior especially when twisting of information is used. Make no mistake about it this is what is being called out.. HYPE USING TWISTED INFO.

amen. are filipinos really that gullible or worse dumb to be excited with headlines about a mini camp invite? thanks for pointing this out dadmiral - i am personally happy for kai that he has made at least USD500K in 3 years but at the same time i am not dumb, gullible or stupid to show superficial happiness with all the overhyping about him.

let me add as well that when those who overhype kai are cornered in argument or debate - just like when kai went undrafted - they resort to non-basketball arguments like "you're filipino so you should support kai no matter what", "he's a victim of racial discrimination in the nba", "chet is white", "that's crab mentality", "at least kai has made millions at an early age unlike you who's probably a bum", etc etc thereby reducing discussions to utter nonsense.

Japs, Kai and Kobe, that should have been a solid frontcourt, complemented by Ravena and BRP at the backcourt- the all pinoy overhyped team. Great players but yeah, too much hype. Same sentiments, We don't hate Kai per se, we hate the blind, cult like following. Can't we be pragmatic in our support for Sotto?

Look at your comment previously, all the effort is negative. SL and mini camps are all useless and level is still way off. You are as worst as over hypers here in the opposite spectrum. If you are really neutral, lets see what happen first. Like Brownlee did not even get this much opportunities and we now how much talented he is.

@ zairex that is indeed the knee jerk reaction , they view it as Hate and negativity , not realising that the root cause that brought the perception of "hate" is mainly because 1, people don't like being corrected and 2. If you worship someone , then anything that sound critical is viewed as hate.. it's really the same , whether you put Japeth, Paras or say for argument sake Mason Amos was the super big trend.. ( and people overhyped to the point where they really believe Cone , that he was a 6'7 Alan Caidic, therefore NBA material. anyone who goes to that level of hero worship will get the same reaction , then Mason fans will cry , why are you so critical of just a young 18 year old boy. u had it coming with the hero worship ! NBA mini camp and SL are not useless per se IF you are a legit NBA prospect. Realistically Kai isn't (undrafted, hasn't improved on his weaknesses and even regressed in his recent stint in bleague)

i wonder why his camp chose japan over a return to the nbl or to leverage on his agent's lithuania connections to play in more competitive leagues in europe? just concerned that hiroshima might cut or unload him midway into the season if he doesn't meet expectations ala justin baltazar.

Many of these players are not products of hype. RDO (2011) and Dwight are revelations.

He'll probably at least avg 10-13 pts per game,and will have at least 9-11 rbs per night at most.
