Summer League is the ultimate "buwakawan" tournament. Outside lottery picks who will be given chances, the rest will be on crocodile mode. Especially for non-guards, unless you are super-aggressive and maximize your touches through constant movement and rebounding, or play elite defense so the coach gives you playing time...you will be invisible.
He has to be aware of this going in. No one is paying attention to him, he has to grab their attention.

Because of proximity and logistics, the NBA summer league is the easiest way to get the most eyeballs from NBA coaches/scouts.
It is similar to elite high school camps. Just like the recently concluded Fil-Nation camp in Vegas. The best prospects have already been identified/scouted before that, but for those who are not very known, it is the best way to get exposure because you have a lot of pinoy coaches attending.

Also, just found out Manny Pangilingan nearly bought the Sacramento Kings once upon a time. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

IMHO, for Kai to get noticed in the summer league,. he needs to be the glue guy/ultimate role player ala steven adams or draymond green, set nasty picks, hustle, screen, defense. He ought to show good cardio and conditioning as well. Kai should not be blinded by the mentality that stats and highlights will get him noticed by scouts, that’s for the high draft picks
NBA teams are not looking for starters nor highlight machines in the summer league, they are looking for the 10-15th man in the roster, that could play high quality basketball in few minutes.

It means little, Kai's camp will obviously make it look like a promising opportunity as it's their job to do so, but we the public as a 3rd party with the benefit of critical thinking (not that we don't support) should easily read that his chances are littierally almost zero., while harsh yet accurate. Obviously it will be branded as hate by some zealous fans with misplaced pride.
