There might be something medical that Kai's people aren't telling us. I don't understand how until now he still can't push people out of the way (even though I think Gm 2 was full of slanted calls towards Chiba Jets).

Same same lang per Asian league may pinapanigan. B League's is Chiba. Makes sense Hiroshima did a hail mary and got Kai. For KBL it's SK Knights even though KGC Anyang won. For PBA, lam niyo na yan.

    • Looks like Wasserman got Kai a 5 minute guarantee each game from Hiroshima. Then he is turned to their waterboy and cheerleader. Good job Wasserman!

        That’s more than generous IMO

Kai isn’t a reliable clutch time player. He can’t create his own shots. Has no post up game. Foul prone.

        • kai's high center of gravity works against him, notice why even smaller players can move kai out of the way? they simply just put weight on kai's hips and legs to get him offbalanced.

note that tall bodybuilders also have to do more specialized routines because its no easy feet to lift weights over your hips if you're at least 2 meters tall.

But he will definitely still be invited to the NBA Summer League says the resident psychic / Madam Auring of IBN.

Conspiracy theorists would blame coaches Brian Shaw (Ignite) and CJ Brutton (Adelaide) for not knowing how to utilize Sotto. And now the Hiroshima coach. lol

Or the referees are out to screw Sotto and his current team. lol haha

              • Pathetic how EWP promoted Kai like how Kobe promoted himself. All highlights no fundamentals. No way Kai gets to the NBA except for marketing purposes or a Filipino buys an NBA team haha

well EWP is a sports promotion agency anyway, they think they could hustle their way to the NBA through hype, maybe in the 90s, but with the internet and stuff, everything could be unearthed by scouts and nba teams

                  • EWP deserves some real karma for ruining Kai's career.

Ervin Sotto choosing instant returns instead of long term investment. Classic case of no foresight.

But that's mostly true. Brian Shaw was out to get an NBA coaching job and he got it, plus the Ignite trainers tweaked his jumper. Bruton wanted to run a GSW lineup without shooters. I've never blamed the Hiroshima coach but I do think that Evans and the guards don't pass it inside unless it's a blowout. Chiba Jets have the current most famous B League player and the current rep for Japan's love of midget PGs, Yuki Togashi. Same with SK Knights and Kim Sun Hyung. Mocking people when they're right is an exercise in futility.

In summary, blame everyone except Kai.

                        • We've been saying it since the beginning, hype (highlights) > substance (fundamentals) brought by Kainatics and vloggers.

Although this coming summer League I'm sure Kai will get an invite the same way Parks did. Of course, more highlights incoming lol

No, may kasalanan din si Kai. Choosing Gilas over Ignite, not being open with his decisions to the fans, etc. I don't know what goes on inside and we see him work out a lot so I choose to give Kai the benefit of the doubt. I don't think he had any say in his training since I remember it was his trainers who said they held off on bulking up because it would put undue strain on his knees. But he needs to bulk up more than ever if he wants to improve. More than half his skillset is sealed because he can't bang down low.

I'm calling it now- once Kai gets an invite in Summer League and if he doesn't perform = coach's and team mate's fault

                              • Bottom line, the Ignite, Adelaide and Hiroshima coaches think Sotto is not good enough to finish the game and mostly rides the bench. Because of the red flags of strength issues, lateral quickness or non-switchable big, lack of high motor and lack of explosiveness. These are evident since time immemorial. He gets easily smothered.

He’s NOT NBA material. What’s the next excuse? Age because he’s only 21? lol . Well some here projected him to be drafted into the NBA (a top 10 pick) and even assessed he would surpass the likes of Olajuwon, Duncan etc. Great vision and eye for projecting prospects. lol

But make no mistake, Sotto will be a perennial starting center for the Philippines for the next 10-15 years. Playing outside of the Philippines is just a whole different level.
