  • Will he undergo surgery?

    • Isn't this the same infamous injury happened to DRose before his career went downtown?

Sucks. Hope he makes a full recovery.

        • Minimum recovery of 6months, meaning he will also likely miss the FIBA Asia Cup itself? Damn.

          • If only those Mopboys mopped the floor...

AJ Edu, Zavier Lucero also had ACLs

            • ACL on the left leg or the right leg?

              • Ouch. And he has been playing great so far. This sucks

                • A ruptured ACL is less serious an injury compared to a torn ACL?

As the source indicate, a raptured can heal without surgery.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                  • I think this is a newer approach. IRC during my own surgery the treatment for ruptured ACLs was to cut them and then recreate them as you would a torn one.

                      • so without Kai and possibly AJ, the team will have June Mar and Japeth manning the 5 with Tamayo, Amos and probably Brownlee moonlighting at the 4. This team will be vulnerable without either Kai or AJ.

That's for sure... Even thou they tell 6 months, full recovery expecting within 3 months or so... Koshigawa will tell Kai to focus on rehab and recovery.. so possible return for Gilas will be 2nd window of world cup qualifiers next year, since I don't see him his team will allow him to participate in 1st window of world cup qualifiers in November this year...

                          • Same fate also experience by Mohammed Al Suwailem of Saudi, he was suffered ACL in April 2022, missed 3 window qualifiers and main Fiba Asia cup in 2022.. came back just the last window of world cup qualifiers in February 2023... So he missed 10 months for his national team... So we have to wait for months before we will see him back in Gilas jersey...

Second window of WCQ 2027 is his most realistic date of return.

                                I'm not super worried

Pressure is on Edu to fill his shoes.

Asia Cup 2025 will be harder to win without him.

First Window of WCQ 2027 should be okay unless we are scheduled to face Australia/NZ.
