Mikey more than likely doesn't want his vacation to be interrupted so he and his agent threw in unbelievable price, with Kai his agent advised him that the money they're going to missed from Japan Bleague will be alot,so Kai asked for more, which really just fair even if asked more money from his Bleague salary. This is just more ammo for the anti overseas players to fire at.

I may end up as Kai's number one supporter LoL with latest developments, rather to be exact a suppoeter of overseas exposure exodus and anti PBA being in charge of the national team. Let's not fool anyone, this is what this is all about, and I'm.super confident I have proven practice of what works and what does not to support my position

ahahaha its not chualalay and vargas' fault if its the overseas based ones who are asking for ludicrous amounts .... and that a hastily formed pba heavy team won, naturalized players are a different topic altogether imho
let's call a spade a spade, what cone did was to simply downplay expectations, employ pba style basketball (translation: go to brownlee one on one vs the topnotch opponents) and hope for the best. in the end gilas had luck on its side as 1) it had an easy bracket, 2) brownlee's exploded in the quarters and semis vs iran and china respectively, and 3) we faced a familiar opponent in the finals - who's shooters just went ice cold
longhair and company knew what they did was improbable so they are going to milk it to no end so they can put the pba back on a pedestal while at the same time giving the finger to the overseas based players ahahahaha

It's Ignite's fault for signing a player who they knew were 2 years away from 2 years away ( a genius here proclaimed to wait till he's 27 -28 to judge him ) and was most likely a PR move. SBP for allegedly paying him x amount of money despite being unplayable. And Hiroshima for still paying him despite showing up injured. He's probably not that bad of a player but definitely not worth the hype or asking price. It's only a matter of time till everyone catches on..

in light with wise decision raw not to pay 2 players asking for the moon and that we can rely on "our own players ( PBA raw lang) , OK , so tell me was spending around $ 1.5 M on 2 hugot last week players for World cup a sensible decision, when even 10 % of that amount ( $ 150K) cannot be spent on Batang Gilas for over a 2 year period. now tell me the SBP are not hypocrites'

Remember when CJ was calling out his conditioning after almost 2 years of just mainly training and scrimmages.. still shows up out of game shape and every one called CJ every name under the sun for managing his minutes and "holding him back '

The back injury is a sign of bad or over training for the summer league. Well he got the desired highlights in his first summer league game generating more hype. But his 2nd was worse and had to sit down because of injury. Such an injury at a young age is worrying.
Now, we see Kouame who has perfect defensive fundamentals. Ok the guy is long and athletic. Lets take Chiu. The kid is actually decent at defense. And for a gamr or two started. The kid is a weak rebounder and scorer but I appreciate the improvement on defense. Tab rarely bluffs. I didnt take him seriously when he said going to Ateneo was best for his development.
Now, Im thinking that Tab might have been serious. Seeing the persistent deficiencies in Kai’s game, it is likely a year or two in their college program would have improved that. Tab would have minimized the dunks but would have focused on him a better defender for a longer time in the court. That would have been a better starting point for him than the unrealistic over hype that we got.
The die hard Kai fanatics complained on how Tab played him in Gilas when in fact on offense he allowed Kai to express his creativity. Tab didnt force him to be a half court scorer. That is the most dynamic Ive seen Kai on offense.
Now we hear his management wants him to gain some weight. This is actually practical but might not do him well in Hiroshima were switchability is prized over post strength. But lets see.

Atleast they got their millions, but its a clear indication that they dont see Kai as NBA material and rather not gamble on a long term player development (with limited to no ROI)
