CJ was crucified when he said that Kai needed to work on his conditioning. That is after 2 years away from meaningful competitive games. Guess he knew what he was talking about

kai fanatics are beyond reasoning theres no hope for them. when people think they are better than a professional coach then thats mental right there.

Crucified by whom? The facebook/youtube comments section? The same kind of people who issued death threats to Aussie sports beat writers? Kung ugaling squatter naman, they make the PeeZones and other optimistic ones here look like angels. It really doesn't inspire a lot of confidence though when his games are broadcasted then gets benched because he's a big that has to share minutes with other bigs (and likely foreign players) unlike most other Pinoys in the the B.League that are wings/guards with consistent starter minutes. If his handlers weren't sidelining as financial planners, maybe a conference in the PBA might even help because there are expectations for him to dominate (tapos supot din pala noh?) and he'll try to be more comfortable having a bigger role on a team.

This is why it’s more of a genetic issue than something he can work on, being 7feet tall his body needs more energy than someone shorter, despite being skinny he probably eats more than a normal person at a shorter height. Lots of tall people have stamina and running issues. Nba guys kind of skew the perception because of how gifted they are athletically but Kai is actually more normal in that regard.

i doubt that, he has been with a nbl team for two seasons and has a sports agency managing his career, don't tell me they didn't monitor his health and came up with the right nutrition and strength and conditioning plan for him? he's been based overseas since late 2018, unless ewp's been running his management on the cheap he should've access to far better and credible athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches and sports nutritionists. believe me if he has any genetic issue ewp wouldn't even bother investing in him at the start.

I mean his stamina has been a problem since u16. I mean he’s gone through several programs already. I’m sure he does cardio included in workouts. His motor isnt the best but if he hasn’t proved in that aspect all this time what other factors are there, he still get visibly tired quickly when he tries to move faster. It’s been many games where he looks good at the start of a game but then noticeably drops off in effort near the end. I don’t think he’s lazy, he just knows his limitations.

also I’ll say I think genetic issue was probably not the right words. He’s just not gifted in the stamina area like some other bigs are.

                • Hopefully JC talks some sense into Kai. JC was late playing basketball and a non-heralded college player who had to work his way up to where he is in terms of nba stature. He knows the type of work ethic and effort needed to make it at the highest level. Him or coach Spo.

I don't know if Kai has ever had a mentor figure who actually knows what he's talking about.

maybe Kai should hire the managers of JC instead?

                    • Nah, I think he's in desperate need of a life/career mentor and not more business people.

Hopefully its not someone named Kobe or Ricci, but based on some twitter feed, seeing him standing in a club with one drink in his hand and the other rubbing an arm of a pretty lady, all the while complaining of a back spasm not completely healed,it might be a little too late.
