Laziness isn't just physical limitation but also mental. If Kai is showing that in an actual game, what's more in practice? No wonder he doesn't get much playing time wherever league he goes.
this was painful to watch. And it led to uncontested shots. Even the commentator (a former nba coach) was critical on Kai regarding this

    • As simple as raising his arms straight all the time would help him in def and rebounding.

Use his arms and legs to "gulang" a bit

If his body can't box out the defender properly..front his man facing the defender to gain more strength to box out so that can use some forearm strength

Sprint on the court all the time....basics Kai basics...

      • I doubt he sees himself as a rebounder. He either waits to block a shot from the weak side or he is far from the basket preparing for a leak out fastbreak jam.

He always says in interviews that he need to improve his rebounding. Always having negative numbers on that stat line won't help his cause. He needs to get those rebounds or just forget about his dream

          • i hope kai takes it as a challenge to even just limit KAT in their matchup, even if he goes for 0 pts as long as he makes KAT work hard for his points he'll look good to any scout

In the games against Montenegro and Mexico, they seem to have scouted him, they take their time shooting the 3 on the wing whenever Kai is closing, they knew exactly how fast he can get to the point that they can't shoot anymore,in other words they used him as "asintahan"oh my gulay.

Kai will be in the NBA right now if he had all of RDO's stamina, skills, gulang and Basketball IQ.

                    • Someone said it's the fault of Chots coaching that Kai is playing poorly.

Maybe Chot needs to draw up plays so Kai can get the rebound.

Kidding aside, we are going to need him if we are hoping to get 2 wins in this tournament. He needs to find it in him to be more impactful.

Don't worry KAT isn't a "gamer" and lazy. I've seen a lot of posts online criticizing that team and labeling them as beatable.
