            • Chot just cemented his WC gig as head coach ehehehe

i'm very happy for our players they deserve it.

              • Well this proved that a 2nd, maybe 3rd-rate Gilas squad on 2 week preparation has enough to beat a team of badly coached Euro/G-League level individuals.

                • Guess who had a team high plus minus at 20 with 34 mins of playing time? It's not Brownlee. It's Marcio. How good is Marcio, and how weak our SF lineup. Already past his prime and he is still one of our TOP SF performers.

                  • We should thank Cambodia and Indonesia for fielding multiple naturalized players. Good training for some players that are in contention for WC roster spot.
Manifesting: Philippines top 5 in the FIBA World Rankings

Not really 2nd rate. We have three mobile and active ineligible bigs. This team is actually probably stronger than our FIba team because of these 3 bigs.

                      • Maybe it was Chot genius plan after all. Lose to Cambodia so they face Indonesia which they have scouted for and arguably less talented team than Thai. Then in the finals face Cambodia whom would underestimate them.

                          • I hope after this one, we can send our younger players (U25) to the SEA Games.

We got the gold back. Now hopefully, we can defend it while at the same time developing our younger options. Our young team is developing, so they can be ready as reserves when called up. Plus, exemptions for guys like Mike, Ballungay, Koon, Lucero.

                            • I don't think Choke is smart enough to do mindgames like that. The team just got their mojo together and decided to take the Finals seriously this time. Stiffer defense, more rebounding effort, the little things.

More like Chot finally decided to use his bench.

                              • I think the problem for many fans is that a lineup like that would have underachieved if it failed to bring home the gold. This team, under a great coach, is formidable and capable of taking on some West Asian teams. Chot's inability to make timely in-game adjustments almost squandered the potential of this team. I'm glad they were able to beat this Cambodian threat and bring home the gold.
