Mental. They don't think they can win a team of Americans

            • Btw some of the Cambodian players player in first tier Europe and G league. They are like legitly good and just a notch below NBA level players. If they don't get in foul trouble gold is def a huge possibility.

              • It's actually refreshing to watch SEA basketball seeing them at a higher level..
Cambodia and Thailand level is decent

                • Jakrawan has bulked up a lot but is still soft compared to Morgan and Peterson. He's in the Junmar category of dominating his own league but relegated to a mere rim protector at this level.

                  • This has been the strongest edition of SEA Games for a very long time. Nice seeing SEA teams giving Gilas a scare. My concern, though, is Cambodia. If they intend to extend their program in FIBA, this practice is futile as they can only utilize one naturalized player. If the intention is otherwise, then Cambodia is all good.

Thailand and Indonesia can carry their competitive level in FIBA because many of their Thai-Fors and Indo-Fors are eligible.

Cambodia has no illusions of making out of Division B in FIBA Asia. This is all about this hosting of the SEA games and giving the home crowd a good show and something to be proud of, however hollow.

I wouldn't count on it. We all know there are levels to this and the SEA Games might just be a one-off. The real Cambodia team wouldn't even get minutes in this rotation. Maybe Morgan is a good choice for their designated naturalized player because he's a dependable big, but I don't think they're better than a Vietnam, Malaysia, or even Singapore even with a naturalized player. Hoeup is their Cam-Am and they're going to need a lot more players like him if they're going to compete in FIBA Asia.

Yeah certainly. They are at a mid-good tier Fiba Asia level team like Taiwan/Jordan.
