That was what I was implying in my previous post. That pagmagaling ka sa rebounding even in the low level competition, chances are U would be able to carry it over in the higher level.

U bet coach Chot, the PBA & SBP will be in a "win now, forget about player development" mode if those players were available.
I'd be fine with Scottie and Japeth there, but in place of Ross and maybe CStand, as the former two are key members of the Gilas WC pool and could use the reps. I'd keep Mike, Jerom, and Mason alongside the two.

But June Mar? No purpose other than winning the SEA Games gold. He's a liability in FIBA at this point, and he'll be exploited in the WC, and his offense will not be enough to compensate, not comparable to his useful years in Gilas.

More like a 6-8 Mark Pingris, which would be awesome. BTW, Mike Philipps is only 21 yrs old, right? He will certainly get stronger & tougher in the few yrs to come. Maybe he needs to polish some medium range jumpers so that he becomes an offensive threat maski papaano. That's doable since he's only in his early 20's.

Well, difference in quality of the vets, e. Our vets that are good for Gilas are getting fewer and fewer (Japeth, Parks, Scottie, Perez; CStand, Marcio for SEA Games), and most are in the sunset of their careers.

Calvin Oftana suffered a strained calf in the first half. This flooring is super slippery when wet.

So that's why Oftana didn't play as much. Hope he gets well. We might need his defense.

                • On Womens basketball , What a comeback by Malaysia against Cambodia, down by double digits for the most part of the game then force overtime and won by six.. Gilas womens will have their chance of handling Cambodia their back to back loss tomorrow at 4 pm ( ph time)

This is what I have been saying. He has pretty good length and explosiveness and is not short by Philippine standards. He may not be a 6 footer but he is a decent defender for a PH PG. I would probably choose him over Kiefer at this point.

                    • With our lack of good defensive bigs I guess Mike Phillips would be a good option for the ineligible slot. Of course a healthy Kouame is better, but he is not.

He needs to work on his shooting especially FTs otherwise he cannot play crunch minutes
