And to your earlier point , if they only lobby for players they need , then why did they spend both time and money on Ahanmisi , Winston, guards which we are loaded in which we will hardly need and use.

You will clearly see Greg already met the requirements as early as around 2011, yet the request was only made around 2019, as such the delay. Basically years residency as a pro over 22 yrs old is unnecessary.

Regardless the SBP still had to allocate resources to work on his case to get FIBA clearance. I think same case with Malonzo and Mav..

Do note all fil foreigners (dual citizens) regardless if they got passport after 16, much more if NOT (Mavs, Wright, Gamber , Spencer , Zain etce etc) still need to get FIBA clearance before playing

how about Mav Ahanmisi did SBP also shouldered bill or cost for his exemption? Considering prior to his FIBA clearance last year he is been out of Gilas pipeline for a while. And SBP sponsored him instead of Hermoso? I don’t get it.

I don't know about that but i heard he has already passport before he reach 16... So i guess he's already eligible in the first place....

Actually NO Mav did not have a passpoet before 16, but had a verifiable document thst he applied for a passport before his 16th birthday, but here is the thing regardless if it's not technically a exemption case, the SBP has to allocate time and money to facilitate getting Mav's clearance, debunking this mis informed belief of your that the SBP only lobbies and works on clearance or exceptions for players it sees worthy and needs. . But my question to you still you didn't answer why the likes of Jawato, Lish, Young and Morgan get their exemption case even all of them didn't born on their respective countries, live and studied there? They all came just to play PRO basketball same as Cstand, Ross and Pringle.. As you said, there are cut offs and they should been there since their young age... But those names that i mentioned didn't do that and still getting exemptions? Your assumption is still NOT valid...

The SEA games are over and I still think the reasons why some players begged out were BS. Like Mikey Williams, his reason why he begged out is that his father was getting married but I have been following his IG since he became a TNT player but I still haven't seen in his IG stories of his father getting married. lol

Remember, Morgan of Thailand was classified as Naturalized player back in 2018 Pre qualifiers, Then all of sudden he became local last year... He didn't born in Thailand, study and live there at young age... He came to Thailand on his early 20's just to play PRO...That's why Cstand, Pringle and any Ineligible players still has shot to get their exemption status if SBP lobby their case...

Assuming this, If Cstand, Pringle, Mikey were have roots in Indonesia, Thailand or Vietnam, they will have a chance being exempted there than in the Philippines, If they follow how Lish, Young, Jawato and Morgan route for their local status... Let's be real here... They didn't get exemptions even they have a chance because SBP are afraid that if they get their local status, they will have a chance to go in other Asian leagues as Asian quota imports, That's why SBP are not keen to do that... they put them all in dog house just to serve PBA's interest only.... Yes absolutely being a resident at a young age if no passport before 16 is not an assumption , it's a clear guideline and principle of FIBA , communicated in all messages including the letters for exception approval or denial. .
as a guideline principle there are no exact numbers to what age , how many years residency are exactly required, still cannot understand the difference and comprehend ?

BTW Pringle and Standhardinger have already applied and have rejection letters stating reason, residency is too old..

perhaps a good guideline "unwritten rule is must be under 21 yrs old before entering a local school for residency.. note PBA draft age minimum is 22 yrs old
