Tab Baldwin begins his reload for season 86 in January. Graduating players are Dave, BJ, Ange, Shaun to med school and Lao to help manage Converge in the PBA. Waiting in the wings to be elevated is balik player Credo, Espinosa, Bongo, red shirts Opena, Brown and true high school graduates Tuano, Gamber and Mason Amos. Let us wait and see if Lebron Lopez is part of the group. More Fil-something recruits to follow.

LBL has a curious case. He did sign a pro contract but was voided because he cant get a working visa to the US. I think he did his due diligence not to play in any (semi) pro leagues like the MPBL, that may result in losing his eligibility. His case is unprecedented AFAIK.

In UP Team B it was the former NU players Felicilda and Torres taking turns at the point. With Felicilda the better facilitator. Torres plays more as a scorer. Belmonte is UP?s hybrid forward of the future, who could take the place of Tamayo and Lucero. These are UP B top 3 players.

Briones is not gonna play point anytime at UP with a batallion of guards in line; JD, Spencer, Alarcon, Abadiano, Fortea. And in Team B Felicilda and Torres.

Briones will more likely play the 3. He was a disappointment in a recent UP Team B game.

What's the likelihood of a coaching change for DLSU? People are speculating Ayo will take over for good reason too. He continues to drop hints on his social media.

Since he's banned from the UAAP, he can circumvent that by deploying his coaching staff and coaching remotely similarly to what he did for UST. However, the biggest obstacle that he needs to overcome is the alumni and boosters. He didn't end things the right way and these old geezers do not play that game. They didn't like him to begin with.

Even without Lopez, Ateneo's wing lineup looks deep as heck

Obasa will not make Ateneans forget about Ange. Ange will be a big loss offensively and defensively. Defense is the biggest concern because Obasa has shown he can motor up and down the court and score some despite his thin physique. The Ateneo backcourt will definitely be deeper. Gab Gomez was recruited as a shooter and finally shown his range. He can start opposite Padrigao. Espinosa and Brown will vie for the back-up pg behind Padrigao. Tab Baldwin described Opena as a big bodied guard with quick feet. Tuano’s resume says he can play both guard positions and even slide to the small forward position given his 6’ 3” size. Koons can take the spot of Dave with Gamber and Credo as back-up. Both Kai and Mason can be unleashed as stretch 4’s with their 3 point range.

Tab Baldwin needs to bring in another tall player as the under study of Geo who graduates after season 86. If Lopez is allowed to play, that will be a big bonus. Gamber can push Gomez for the starting shooting guard. Lots of good problems for Baldwin and he will have enough time to prepare the newcomers as most are already enrolled in Katipunan and Mason starts in January as a r3crnt high school graduate from Australia.

Ange is the goat FSA in the UAAP.

4 years of Ange > 2 Years of Mbala

Here's UP's depth chart so far:
Guards: Abadiano, Fortea, Cagulangan, Cansino, Calimag, Spencer, Gonzales, Alarcon, Felicilda, Torres
                  Wings: Briones, Torculas, Belmonte, Andrews
                  Forwards: (Tamayo), Eusebio
                  Bigs: Diouf, Lina

Need to solve some holes at the 4 and 5 spots, especially since we lost Lucero, Galinato, and possibly gonna lose Carl.

People will still deny that. Still having just offense as the benchmark.

Ange's edge on defense far outweighs Mbala's offensive impact.

How many playing years does Obasa have?

Not gonna act like Mbala was a slouch on defense though.

He played on a system wherein it was all gambling for steals and to’s. He just only played 2 yrs

Likelihood of Ayo coming back --- BIG FAT ZERO. He's not coming back.

Likelihood of coaching change --- at this point, I would say unlikely. I don't share the majority opinion that in-game coaching is the main problem. Internal sponsor politics is more of a problem with DLSU. The Schonny Winston brouhaha after their last match was because of one of the sponsors/patron, NOT because of Derrick or any of his coaching staff. The line-up should be based on merit, actual performance during pre-season games and what works within the system. Guys like Escandor and heck, Blanco should never have been lined up. But they are there to accommodate the boosters who brought them to DLSU. Sigh.

Depth chart of DLSU is still good next season. Winston is essentially being replaced by Mitchell. Then they have Policarpio coming in, and recruits who have not yet been announced (but have committed). The big question really is whether Nelle will give it another go, because there's no one there to replace him (Estacio is raw, Alao is untested).

Following IPC's post above, here's DLSU depth chart so far (assuming everyone with playing years left will stay on):

Guards - Nelle, Nonoy, Alao, Estacio, Montecillo, Mitchell, Robinson Jr.
Wings/Forwards - Quiambao, Austria, Abadam, Escando, Galman, Blanco, Policarpio, Andres, Gollena, Macalalag, Manuel, David, Buensalida
Bigs - Nwankwo, Cortez, M. Phillips, B. Phillips

They could use another big or two.

It would be shocking if they don’t change coaches but it won’t be Ayo if what i’m hearing is right

Nelle is as good as gone if the Pumarens don't come back. Nonoy too, but to a lesser degree.
