Tab Baldwin revealed during the interview with Naveen Ganglani that Sean is coming back and will be one of his co-captains for next season. Baldwin also mentioned that Sean has 3 years of eligibility left if he plays out because Sean already has earned his college degree, ka batch niya si Belangel. Sean Quetevis graduated from pre-med with Latin honors. Had he not made the team this year, he was going straight to med school. Not bad for an unheralded walk on from Paref school in Cebu who was not only cut from varsity but was also cut from TeammGlory Be. His hard work and persistence paid off. Baldwin admitted that Sean proved him wrong and Sandy was correct.

Baldwin also mentioned that Chris Koon has 2 years of eligibility and is scheduled to graduate by the end of the school year. Koon will play as a graduate student.

Will Lebron play next season? That will be determined by the UAAP board when his credentials are presented. Nobody in Ateneo wants a repeat of the Ronnie Bughao story.

Now that Racela is stepped down as FEU's head coach. What are the chances that Jacob Bayla leaves? FYI no one was able to substantiate that claim here.

Not for anything, but should he de-commit from FEU I think it is clear he develops and becomes more marketable if he goes Ateneo’s way. Ateneo’s current primary ballhandlers are all below 6 feet. As evidenced by the continuing Chris Koon experiment, CTB seems keen on the idea of having taller ballhandlers in his situational toolkit.

A 6?2 Filam combo guard would do himself no harm by going under the tutelage of Coach Tab.

          Just my POV, of course.

Who is this Tuano recruit for Ateneo? Never heard of him and can't find anything on him online.

Shawn Tuano 6'3 G/F played in Villanova Prep. Untested pa against better competition.

Nenad vs. Tab in Season 86?

                  NENAD COMEBACK

Highly-acclaimed Serbian coach Nenad Vucenic is returning to the Philippines to reprise his role as consultant for the Meralco Bolts in the PBA, multiple sources told SPIN.ph.

He is set to arrive January 2, just in time for January 3 when Meralco starts team practice for the third conference.

In the aftermath of Tab Baldwin's abrupt exit as Gilas program director last February, the Samahang Basketbol Ng Pilipinas (SBP) hired Vucenic as a consultant and acted as one of coach Chot Reyes' assistants during the second window of the 2023 FIBA Asian Qualifiers.

Vucenic was also tapped as head coach when Gilas played a couple of exhibition games against Korea in the third window.

No word yet if Vucenic will also return to the SBP but sources revealed that his name is also being tossed as a possible candidate for the LaSalle coaching job.

Its a long shot, but I hope its true. We need more foreign coaches who implement Euro style basketball.
It will also benefit local coaches who will serve as an assistant.

We also need coaches who can make us defend quick ball movement and accurate shooting. Good practice for international games, so we don't get burned every time we face a team like SoKor.

Also, coaches who can develop internationally-sized and skilled local forwards, so that we have more options for Gilas.

I know this is probably wishful thinking. He'll be working for Meralco, a MVP group company. I don't think there's a chance in hell they'll allow him consult for Meralco while coaching La Salle.

EDIT: LMAO Homer Sayson is the author.

Charles Tiu is working for Meralco and Benilde.

The Villavicencios of DLSU are related to Ricky Vargas. The Villavicencios are also minority stakeholders in MVP group of companies.

There's an important distinction between DLSU and CSB. DLSU is like the alumni's pride. They are probably the biggest hurdle between getting Tiu crossing the street to coach DLSU MBT.

Agree. Of course he will likely not get the minutes as a freshman that he was hoping to get at FEU, but still he has the game to make the Final 16. Also, this will be Pauly Garcia?s last year so system-wise, there will be room for a reliable ballhandler moving forward. (Evidently however, Garcia?s lack of playing time towards the end of the second round casts doubt on his reliability in this regard.) My peanut gallery input is that he may have been a bit shellshocked, what with the physicality and sizes of the arenas and crowds. Maybe his swan song year will be his breakout year.
