I just watched game on YouTube Ateneo blue eaglet vs UPIS and noticed this very huge kid on the Ateneo bench and it's Owen Calanasan the 6'10 kid. I heard he just turned 15 year old this last month...I hope Ateneo won't do the same mistake they did to Kai Sotto.

Maybe UPIS doesnt have as much talent. IRC UPIS has historically attracted some decent talent unlike the Men’s team. UPIS education I heard is pretty good. Scholarships might be enough to gain them good talent. But maybe the budget is limited compared to other top end HS?

Maybe the could spare some of those budget the seniors team have. Playing only 6 guys in 40 minutes just invites injuries and exhaustion to these kids.

I guess yeah someone similar to him, they can afford it naman hahs. Bo Perasol has never been it, even during his ateneo days, he hasn't beem cutting it. He's more suited for his current role as team manager of sorts, while as ive said before, Goldwyn is more of a player's coach akin to the pat rileys and phil jacksons of the coaching world.

Collin Akowe is 6'10". Adamson have also pair of big men. Sacred Heart-Ateneo De Cebu also have 6'8" fil-foreign Lars Fjellvang and 6'6" Gelomar Rota. we have a lot incoming big kids.

I only had a few clips on those two kids and it seems a little bit raw for now but lot's of potential but if given enough reps and opportunity an invitation for the propose U17 or U18 try-out will be a good start.

coach tab is very high on them. saw some clips he said Rota is potential SF in the future. Fjellvang some glimpse of a young marc pingris and both of them wants to play for CTB..

On this note, I am curious... why did KQ not join the rest of the NU boys in UP with Coach Gold? He was the only core member of that group to go to a school other than UP (not counting Enriquez (NU) and Buensalida (DLSU) who played spot minutes then at best). Alarcon, Fortea, Tamayo, Abadiano and then Torres and Felicilda all followed Goldwin.
