About the discussion on Ron Harper Jr., I'll say this on our interior defense. Kai and AJ are our only big-minute interior defenders as of now. When neither is in the lineup, we're a donut, save for the time that Japeth's on the floor. Kai's injured. I think Japeth's a limited-minutes big in FIBA at this point.

On Harper now, can he, along with the rest of the team, mask our lack of an interior defensive presence when none of Kai, AJ, and Japeth are on the floor?

And Ron Harper, Jr. most probably is now available, right? His G-league team is already eliminated, right?

Between Ron, Jr. & Jordan Clarkson, I'll choose the former as Gilas natiralized player for the Asia Cup for the following reasons:

    1. It will take much more money to get Clarkson for another stint with Gilas than for Gilas to have Ron, Jr. as its NP.

    2. Clarkson most likely is going to join Gilas late (like he usually does) while Ron, Jr. can come to Manila by early June to start practicing with Gilas (the "every Monday" Gilas practice).

No way this guy is taking minutes away from the coach's favourites. Unless he gets drafted by Ginebra and masters his super secret extremely difficult to learn system. We'll live and die with his boys

everyone is saying about new players will take time to master cone's system. People suggesting this and that. Are you guys ok having kabayan as NP with possible chemistry issues and not ok adding other pinoys and possibly harper jr.?
We had JC at the last minute in the 2018 Asiad and we were still competitive.

If you can make it work, then you can make it work.

Cone is simply a stubborn dinosaur who doesn’t know how to adjust. There’s a reason I was never high on him. Too many GSM fanboys are simply blinded by our recent success in the 2022 Asiad, OQT, and first ever win against NZ.

Which is b*llsh*t on the part of Tim Cone. If this is Rajko, Tab or even Chot, they will definitely not hesitate on getting Harper, Jr. He is basically an import level player who just so happens to be a Fil-Foreigner and that's another reason why getting him is more practical - no need for naturalization process.

The most realistic is JC as far as go-to scorers are concerned.

Tim is 67 yo and extremely stubborn. He’d still choose an injured Brownlee if he could. If he still rejects Clarkson albeit the former’s availability, then he is an idiot.

I won’t be surprised if the reason we still haven’t heard from FIBA is because of Cone’s camp insisting on Brownlee’s appeal.

I’m not opposed to having RHJr and don’t doubt his talent.

The issue is with Cone and his camp. Too stubborn and insistent on player X because of “team chemistry”.

What team chemistry really? The “pass to Brownlee” team chemistry?

I just hope Gilas ends up with Ron Harper, Jr. as its naturalized player in the Asia Cup.
