We're pretty well scouted by the Aussies. They'll probably try to bury us from the get go

I have high hopes in this team.. even the possibility of not having Kai sotto in August... I still like their chances...

      • For as long as we get enough preparation time for this tournament, I'm optimistic of at least a bronze medal. The upcoming pocket tournament in Qatar that Gilas will join as tune up for the upcoming 3rd window is really a big help for Gilas as it will not only prepare Gilas for the 3rd window but to the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup tournament proper as well.

I feel Gilas needs at least 4 weeks of full time preparation & about 6 to 8 tune up games before the Asia Cup. Hope the PBA 2024-2025 season ends within the 1st week of July. I think the B-league & the KBL will end its respective seasons anytime June so in so far as the availability of Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu & Carl Tamayo is concerned, wala na tayong problema.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Minimum is knockouts. Anything beyond the semifinal is a huge win.

            Realistic Goal: 2nd

            Golden: 1st

            • Since Tim and, maybe, us fans are already looking ahead of the upcoming FIBA-Asia Cup, let's take a look of other teams that could possibly playing in the third placers' games.

For now, I would to look at the East Region. Based on the standings, the possible third placers are Taipei, Thailand and Guam. I find the matches interesting since both Thailand and Taipei have undergone build up - Thailand with addition of several Thai-Fors which helps them to add size while Taipei is now being led by professionals from TPBL, P+ and the CBA with Gilbeck and Abasi as big upgrades for the team. Guam can give these teams a fight.

Whoever the two teams that will make into Asia Cup proper will surely face a tougher competition ahead with Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, China, Korea and the Middle East teams waiting.
