Yeah, the tandem of Jakrawan and Patiphan, together with Morgan and Lish, Thailand will be no pushover. Too bad, stars are not aligning for Thailand.

      It?s like the safest option.
Good idea but will they interested? Anyway they host FIBA Women's WC last month... chances are good for them... Maybe they are focus on hosting FIFA Women's World cup.... That's why they are no signs yet

Thailand will force Moses Morgan to play big man role because of lack of bigs... their tallest guy is only 6'6... Not good for them... They will rely on speed this time.... Vietnam has 6'8 (or 6'9) guy, same as Malaysia, Tahiti and Mongolia... Because of that, Thailand will be on danger to not qualify for 2nd round... Basketball still a tall mans game..

What's Morgan's play style? If he's a wing, then, small ball four.

Can any of the others play big?

He is a combo forward (3/4). Thailand should have called up Tyler Lamb to, atleast, add some ceiling.

Lamb seems not interested anymore to play for his national team... w/o a big man, they have to rely to Lish and Morgan's skills to help them... and even no news if they conduct tune up games prior to the tournament... Vietnam played against VBA imports in their tune up game 2 days ago, Malaysia came from Filbasket championship, Mongolia went to Korea for training and some tune up games vs Korean ball clubs, while even Tahiti is sharp due to ongoing FIBA Polynesian cup... It will be a huge downfall if they lost top 3 spot for 2nd round....

Maybe New Zealand as they haven’t hosted anything major outside of Rugby for a while.

I don’t mind that. My brother is in NZ and loves it there.

For the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup, here's my 20-man Gilas pool:

                  1. Kiefer
                  2. Iskati
                  3. Bolick
                  4. Schonny Winston
                  5. CJ Perez
                  6. Thirdy
                  7. Jordan Heading
                  8. Rhenz Abando
                  9. Dwight Ramos
                  10. Oftana
                  11. Will Navarro
                  12. Malonzo
                  13. Tamayo
                  14. Baltazar
                  15. Mason Amos
                  16. Kai Sotto
                  17. AJ Edu
                  18. Geo Chiu
                  19. Roosevelt Adams
                  20. RJ Abarrientos

Naturalized player would be Cameron Oliver.

I think its about time we get rid of our aging players in the Gilas pool: Japeth, Junmar, Erram, Pogoy, Chris Newsome. Let's give the younger players the chance to show their wares as a national team players.

We might wanna call up other kids from the recent U16 and U18 for the 2025 Asia Cup windows too. Jared Bahay, Alex Konov, Caelum Harris, James Nacua, Josh Coronel, Seven Gagate, Gab Demisana. Cholo A?onuevo of FEU and Jared Abadam of La Salle, maybe?

And no love for Ange? Hahahahahaha.

I hope that they have coaches with an eye for NT development can handle them in the NT.

Ange is a decent rotational big but he has nothing on Cam Oliver. Iba talaga ang NBA level na big man who is multifaceted.

I get the point, and Cam might be a better fit for Kai, but as always, defense is a concern for me. Can Oliver defend? I haven't watched many TNT games.

He’s no rim protector but if he plays 4 with Kai as the 5, Cam is good against opponents who love to switch.

The only advantage for Oliver is that he’s young, but Quincy miller, rakocevic and even nicholson are better choices…. Aside from rakocevic, others are too late to be naturalized since they are in late prime years…. What gilas needs is long term naturalized player… maybe range 23-26 years of age, plus good skills, height and more important the attitude of the guy

                              Vietnam’s 14 man pool

HO CHI MINH CITY (Vietnam) - Vietnam are returning to compete in a FIBA competition for the first time in a long time with much excitement, highlighted by Justin Duong Young's potential debut.

Popular names are Justin young, Khao Tran and 6’8 big Nguyen Huynh Phu Vinh

I actually like Kouame, but in a big tournament like the FIBA Asia Cup, I think we would be needing a go-to-guy type of a naturalized player like a Cameron Oliver.

Besides, I expect AJ Edu to be playing for Gilas in that tournament so I think having both Kouame & Edu in Gilas with Kai already there would be sort of futile.

On the other hand, we are a bit weak at the 4 spot so having a NP like Oliver who is a natural 4 would ideal.
