I think King can defend... The reason why King and Blackwater have their 3 game winning streak as of the moment because of his impact on the court.. in some plays, especially on defense, he is the defender of opposing imports.. I will just compare it to other imports such as Myke Henry, Jordan Adams and Glenn Robinson.. all of them are scorers but the latter 3 are very lazy defenders..

I mean he can defend but not at the level that would get him an NBA contract. He's ok I guess if we're only going to play Asian teams but I'd rather use the resources for a better NP

if we thoroughly assess what Philippine basketball needs as far as tapping a naturalize guy
i've already said it before and I will said it again and again until kingdom come
we need a guy who is like a 6'8 to 6'9 Sonny Alvarado or a Calvin Abueva(minus the cuckoo in the head)
we've seen Alvarado's work rate during those years both on offense and defense, his work rate is infectious and complements really well with Eric Menk
realistically, we could easily discover hafus in the same breath as Jalen Green, JC, Harper bros. via different Filipino organization in the states
like Fil Natin Select, Tumakbo, NABA among others who's using the socmed tools to the max and those people behind it are already educated about FIBA's eligibility rulings
the likes of Kai Sotto, AJ Edu, QMB, Carl, Hepa, Sage are generational so we are basically shorter compared to those top-tiers
we could be very competitive in the world level in the 6'0 up to the 6'5 level in the near future because of the diaspora alongside the domestic based
but those details I've mentioned and other things I forgot to include are useless
unless our grassroot development are not yet fully establish both domestically and internationally.
basketball and volleyball nowadays are fully funded thanks to those stakeholders in the private sectors
were hoping that the next in line at SBP/PBA to replace those ageing Grandpas
had the fresh ideas and innovations to introduce on Gilas Basketball moving forward.

in my own little way as a typical Juan dela Cruz, I think it's my moral obligation whatever little knowledge I've learned so far to share and disseminate something more worthwhile to all my fellow noypi
that is why I love sports alongside my IT works because the mantra is all about "Sports is an effective way on Nation Building" and I totally agree on that
I ain't projecting myself as a perfect person, I also had my own share of filthiness, shortcomings and infirmities, no argument there,
I need to be humble and always plant my feet on the ground until kingdom come
I chance upon this online news and true enough, even on my previous post(s)
that teenage pregnancies and AIDS are one of the big problem of ours
let's not talk about graft and corruptions, peace and order, inflation, crime rates, drugs, gun assault, Asian hatred among others that's another story
even the so-called First World countries are currently experiencing those stuff.
that is why sports is an effective way to control many things esp. on our youth
implementing grassroot development all the way down to the barangay level should be implemented
with the commitment of the LGU, PSC, DILG, DSWD, PNP, AFP, DepEd, Private Sectors, POC and it's NSA
hence it should be an Inter-Agency setup
we can't control the physical anatomy and hot desire of each living things
all I can say is that we Filipinos are very very much hot blooded BogLi BogLi for life as per my own personal experience on the ground
the National Government should really focus on youth sports as one of their priority for Nation Building.
aside from the usual birthday s_x, the below link is also part of the game plan amongst the youth
Teenagers are engaging in sexual activity as a “monthsary” gift to their partners, the Commission on Population and Development said yesterday.

It's still far away but I hope the SBP makes a serious bid on hosting the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup.
I miss having a full-blown tournament in the PH. Before migrating to the US, I was in Manila during the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships and it was lit. The post-game celebrations after beating Korea in the semis was unforgettable.
The upcoming tournament will be held in KSA so it's safe to assume the one after will be in the East region again. I fucking hope it isn't China again. Them hosting in 2009, 2011, and 2015 was annoying as fuck.Last edited by sroth3839; 09-18-2024, 05:19 PM.

It's never an issue with local college sports because of how a season is split in halves... but international sports follow the same western summer schedules and it doesn't help that the people running Volleyball Philippines are very aggresssive in wanting to host everything from the Women's Challenger Cup to next year's Men's World Cup and all its supporting qualifying events. The sound of 45000+ ladies and men identifying as ladies means money for the FIVB.
