Sorry I was just comparing King to RHJ because I'd rather pass on both. RHJ is way better on defense, better on everything except shooting. King can't shoot at a high level though and cannot create for himself or others and isn't that good on D despite being labeled being projected as one. King might be a better fit in FIBA but I'd rather use our NP slot for a versatile big. Brownlee is an exception as he's TC's boy and it easy to naturalize hin. Besides we still have JC who is probably the best wing in Asia

The reason why King and Blackwater have their 3 game winning streak as of the moment because of his impact on the court.. in some plays, especially on defense, he is the defender of opposing imports.. I will just compare it to other imports such as Myke Henry, Jordan Adams and Glenn Robinson.. all of them are scorers but the latter 3 are very lazy defenders..

Yeah, but King is not a bad option anyway.. I don't want to hear "sayang, dapat inoferan natin to".. I'm sure he will have offers in other national teams in near future, especially those teams who badly needed scoring imports.. Boatwright is ok but he will turn to be injured prone player and that means we will waste our time, effort and money to him if he turned to be injured prone player....

if we thoroughly assess what Philippine basketball needs as far as tapping a naturalize guy

i've already said it before and I will said it again and again until kingdom come

we need a guy who is like a 6'8 to 6'9 Sonny Alvarado or a Calvin Abueva(minus the cuckoo in the head)

we've seen Alvarado's work rate during those years both on offense and defense, his work rate is infectious and complements really well with Eric Menk

realistically, we could easily discover hafus in the same breath as Jalen Green, JC, Harper bros. via different Filipino organization in the states

like Fil Natin Select, Tumakbo, NABA among others who's using the socmed tools to the max and those people behind it are already educated about FIBA's eligibility rulings

the likes of Kai Sotto, AJ Edu, QMB, Carl, Hepa, Sage are generational so we are basically shorter compared to those top-tiers

we could be very competitive in the world level in the 6'0 up to the 6'5 level in the near future because of the diaspora alongside the domestic based

but those details I've mentioned and other things I forgot to include are useless

unless our grassroot development are not yet fully establish both domestically and internationally.

It's still far away but I hope the SBP makes a serious bid on hosting the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup.

I miss having a full-blown tournament in the PH. Before migrating to the US, I was in Manila during the 2013 FIBA Asia Championships and it was lit. The post-game celebrations after beating Korea in the semis was unforgettable.

The upcoming tournament will be held in KSA so it's safe to assume the one after will be in the East region again. I fucking hope it isn't China again. Them hosting in 2009, 2011, and 2015 was annoying as fuck.

I think Mongolia might be the next choice, since basketball there is hot commodity and very popular.. Their fans is very passionate and their UG Arena is a world class... Although my concern was their barbaric fans, but that is normal thing in the sporting world... Japan also can be a candidate since basketball there is getting recognition now as top sports in Japan... Also in the mix might be Australia..

It's not that simple anymore. Basketball has volleyball to contend with for the bigger venues like MoA and Araneta. It's never an issue with local college sports because of how a season is split in halves... but international sports follow the same western summer schedules and it doesn't help that the people running Volleyball Philippines are very aggresssive in wanting to host everything from the Women's Challenger Cup to next year's Men's World Cup and all its supporting qualifying events. The sound of 45000+ ladies and men identifying as ladies means money for the FIVB.

SM is building a large arena similar to moa in cebu, it should be open by 2029, would be a good alternative to metro manila.

Preparation is the key. If our team will get at least 4 weeks of full time training prior to the tournament, then I'm convinced we'll do well in that tournament. Also, we need at least 5 tune up games prior to the tournament.
