I just hope that our beloved SBP people are already looking forward to the 1st window of the 2025 Asia Cup qualifiers. Dapat sa ngayon pa lang pinag iisipan & pinagpaplanohan na nila yung composition ng Gilas team for that window. I bet our Japan B-league boys will be available for Gilas in this window (as usual). But how about our PBA boys? Will the PBA take a break (2 weeks) to give way to Gilas' training & participation in the 1st window? SBP should coordinate with the PBA for this maybe right after the 2023 World Cup. I understand masyado pang busy ang mga SBP people for now becoz of the World Cup, but right after the World Cup, SBP should already be setting its sights on the 2025 Asia Cup qualifiers.
Yung common kasing reklamo ng PBA against SBP is that SBP not informing the PBA in advanced that it is requesting players from the pro league for a particular window or tournament itself.

I guess, Qatar will also host 2025 fiba asia cup, for their run up to their preparations for 2027 fiba World Cup, w/c will also held in Qatar… and maybe fiba will give ultimatum to Qatar, since their current fiba rankings is low (rank 89) just like they did to Indonesia… they are not deserving to be part of 2027 fiba World Cup if we based their current status of their basketball team as of now… Indonesia is much higher ranking (rank 85) than Qatar and they (Indonesia basketball) didn’t qualified to this year’s tournament even they are also host…

Anyways, if Chua takes over, long-term planning ain't exactly a priority too, same with Panlilio and Vargas. Maybe just exposure to PBA favorites, even if aging and/or incapable.

Lay the foundation in November, then full swing by February (B.League and KBL break, UAAP and NCAA are over).

Yeah, we need to prepare for the window, starting now. We need to start the rebuild after Asian Games, or at least plan the rebuild after the Asiad. The Japan boys, and maybe the Korea boys, are available, so they might make a good core. Maybe Malonzo, Perez, Scottie, Brownlee, and Navarro can be good additions. Need a big, though.

Core:
Scottie
Malonzo
Junemar
Dwight
Abando
Sotto
Edu
Kiefer
Brownlee / Kouame
The rest are rotational players with support roles. I don’t want to include Junemar but he can still contribute as a back up big.
I don’t expect a new NP till the WC 2027 (assuming we qualify).
