I'm not into the specific but some kids from the San Beda HS, a few lads from NU Nazareth and FEU HS teams are worthy to be considered in the training pool,

San Beda’s 6’6 Gian Del Rosario. He’s said to be 16-turning-17 or has turned 17.

Yes Sir TBC, spot on that 6’6 kid, Gian pala name nun..sorry as I said I’m not into specifics, with so many kids out there I’m not good in names..actually there’s several 6’4, 6’5 kids as well on SBHS, also, I spotted a few kids in the Xavier and Chiang Kai Shek that I think had a decent level as well…a few 6’3 to 6’4 kids with long arms..I hope someone knows the kid’s names..we’ve talking about NCR here but if someone had an inside track on Delta’s own sweat shop, they had also some few decent kids with height but still a little bit raw.

Del Rosario may be overaged like Gemao, Wagan, Pomelo Ball Esperanza, 6'4 Ples and 6'5 Lorenzo. If born 2006, they're all not qualified. A lot of (qualified) players of San Beda attended the tryouts like Ludovice, Balayan and Basty Castro (now all with UST) so I guess the information was properly given, it's their (or their coaches) fault if they didn't attend or were simply too old for this Gilas edition.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, "walang nang nag-attend ng Gilas tryout na malalaki". Pati nga ang very raw na 6'1 Olaes and very young (2009) 6'6 Prince Carino ng FEU nag pass ng first cuts but were eventually deemed not ready. For me, one of the (inexplicable) early cuts was 6'5 guard Escobido from UST as he seemed very similar to Edryn Morales.

FEU was well represented in the tryouts with 6'1 Olaes, 6'6 Carino, 6'4 Pasinos, 5'10 Godoy, 6'0 Raneses and 6'1 Brandon Yutuc (formerly of San Beda).

Definitely a modern lineup with predominantly 6’4-6’8 players and only one 6’10+ big.

Tyler Reyes (son of JayR) recently turned 14 and looks around 6'6. He's been playing against 18 year olds recently.

I think we've reached the point where we will have several big kids in every age group. We just have to do a better job of identifying them early. Those locals plus the vast untapped fil-fors. Konov is an example, a young 6'7 shooter out of nowhere.

Unfortunately, at this point, Andrewil Yap is way better than Tyler Reyes and they're roughly the same age. Hopefully Tyler likes playing basketball and is not being shoe-horned into the sport just because he's tall.

Btw, as an update, now that schools have face to face classes, a lot of the Metro Manila based 16U players in the Surabaya lineup have unfortunately declined to join. 8 to 10pm practices are just too taxing for students.

There’s a couple of 6’3 Fil-Ams in the pool. Alegre and Elemento. I don’t know how good they are. But in the last month they have been working out with various HS programs like SBU, UP, LSGH, UST.

His sister is the one who has a potential, plain eye sight he seems unnatural for basketball hope im wrong tho.
