Funded by Ateneo or college teams so taht they can recruit them? So it miht be true that u16 teams budget depends on the quality of the prospects that is playing..Last edited by reamily; 07-28-2023, 05:19 PM.To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

SBP partnership with NBTC or Filam Nation
"Madness in MOA" makes a comeback as 24 teams converge at the Mall of Asia Arena for the 2023 Smart-NBTC National Finals slated on March 15 to 19.
Look at FilNation instagram how they are helped by SBP even Coach Chot

Schools / managers ang nagbabayad ng airfare and finders' fee / commission for ELITE prospects sa US based organizations / coaches. They're not doing it out of the kindness of their heart. Yung borderline players, US parents ang nag shoulder ng expenses in hopes that a Philippine school will reimburse them in exchange for commitment.

On the issue of schools spending for prospects travel expenses, that may be true for those that are already identified. But for the prospects that are not discovered by other schools, they usually want those guys to stay hidden and limit their exposure. That's why there are always players who "surprise" the public, but the schools who recruited them are actually savvy.

Gilas U16 plans before flying to Doha, I hope DDO Jr. had plans to upgrade his lineup during the propose training camp otherwise our boys will be abuse to no end with that midget lineup. I ain’t despising anyone on that lineup(they are good kids) but please just being realistic no more 5’5 kid come FIBA U16 tournament proper. We’ve been fed enough of so many soap box stories and moral victories from different platforms so hopefully they would parade a much better lineup.
as I said before, retaining the core of 6’2 Kiefer Alas, 6’1 CJ Amos, 5’11 Irus Chua, 6’4 Edryn Morales and 5’10 Elihjah Williams is highly recommended and surround them with several 6’5 to 6’6 kids who can play the perimeter that’s fair enough considering our 6’8 and above kids that was identified before are still in the infancy period as far as basic basketball skillsets are concern.
