All because Joke Reyes played zone against a Lebanon team that was shooting well.

At the start, the zone made sense, because Lebanon were poor from 3, but as the game went on, the Lebanese kept making them.

    That was absolute dogshit coaching.

Everyone in here including their grandma knows well be let down by "coaching" if you call it that. How the hell do we lose with a stacked squad like that with all the hyped players.

I wonder if CJ Amos will join the team in Indonesia this July, I really hope he does. We could have at least a good pair of combo guards in Kieffer Alas and CJ Amos. Sucks we missed out on JJ Mandaquit.

Just bump on something…the JJ kid are willing to don the 3 Stars and Sun for future entourage. Well, we all know that there is a provision in the player’s FIBA eligibility if he/she decided to play for another federation even though he/she already played in an official tournament for as long as he/she hasn’t reach the age of 17 yrs. old chances are he/she is still eligible to switch alliance for as long as USA Basketball and SBP agreed on certain terms. Otherwise, in the absence of the agreement the Sec Gen will decide certainly with an administrative fee stipulated under the FIBA’s eligibility handbook.

Now the question is does the SBP are willing to lobby and pay for that administrative fee? If ever they want to include him on next year’s FIBA Asia U18 entourage.

There’s no doubt the Double J kid is like a young Hector Calma, very heady and matured, orchestrating the play the way a true PG should do and doesn’t throw the ball too much with his Ave. 1.2 TO and 2.7 Ast. Despite having only an Ave. 15.1 mins. During the entire 2023 FIBA U16 Americas

Almost 200 kids boys and girls participated for this event..I hope we could tap several lads for the coming FIBA Asia U16 tourney who already obtained their respective PH Pass.

The future of Philippine basketball spearheaded by the Fil-Nation Select led by coach Chris Gopez and Cabaggie

The only other bigs that have a chance of cracking the lineup are 6'4 Pat Pasinos (Nov. 2008 born), 6'4 Jaime GDL and 6'2 Benedick Jimenez. The CDO guy didn't show up and based on the short video clips, he seems to be in the same situation as Calanasan.

Our only chance to have bigger players for this iteration of BGU16 is from overseas. Problem is, who will fund their trip and accomodations during the tryout in the Philippines?

Edited to add that: Diao is pure pinoy, having been born in the Philippines but migrated to the US when he was a toddler.
We can have tryouts in the US but that also cost money. Basically more investment in our youth even if funds have to be moved from the seniors squad. Invest in our future.

what is kevin ferrer's actual height? i always thought he's in the 6'3-6'4" range without shoes but has a 6'11" or something wingspan that's why he's able to defend much taller opponents

Yeah he's about an inch taller than the 6'3 Parks.

Something like 6'4 1/2,so legit 6'5 with shoes on.

Unfortunately, there's no funds at all. Everything is coaches and players' expense. No transportation allowance, no money for gym rental (meralco gym use is a donation, Philsports Arena is free but always fully booked). Players' parents / guardians / school cover everything. Packed lunch after a four hour practice is a parent donation. Frankly, walang pera ang BG U16.

Yup our priorities as a national program are all kinds of messed up. Thats why I nothing any criticism of Coach Josh, its not like there is a budget for someone better.
