For me, what's important is that Kiefer experienced very good games wherein he was unstoppable...and then got smacked back to earth by Australia. It showed him how far he is from being truly world level. And hopefully makes it his goal to be at that level.
This is what our elite youth prospects need to experience, a taste of how world-level is and a spark in them to aspire to it.
Kiefer has the physical tools and the family resources (and know how) to aim for a higher goal. I won't be surprised if he goes for it.

I dont know about you but thay system with Dwight and bigger guards wouldve been competitive. I dont care if it is supposedly Euro or its from a foreign coach but fact is that team of amateurs was effective. I wouldve wanted to see those guys develop more under that system and include some upgrades.
So it is you with your Tab hate is trying so hard to look for a system when one was working and on the way to being better.

And wasnt it Chot Reyes who was exposed of usurping Rajko Toroman as the head coach of Gilas 1 and used his influence to get his son who had zero credentials a head coaching job in batang gilas and as an assistant in the seniors team? And despite numerous embarassments to the national team (Australia brawl, losing to Indonesia in the SEA games, shameful own basket in the Asian games, losing to Japan after more than a decade, failing to make the quarterfinals after 2 decades in the last fiba asia cup etc) he refused to resign LOL. So who was the one that actually hi jacked the Gilas program I wonder.お元気ですか?

Here's my take:
Even the most critical posters here on Chot Reyes acknowledge Chot's contribution to Gilas - 2012 Jones Cup title, 2013 FIBA Asia Championship silver medal, 2014 World Cup "moral" victories.
It's just that Chot hasn't delivered the goods since then & he has been "kapit-tuko" to the position as Gilas head coach despite almost every Pinoy basketball fans wanting him out of Gilas, that most posters here are critical to Chot.
Now that's just being fair & objective. It's seeing it exactly as it is.
Now for someone here to say that Tab Baldwin has done nothing good to Phi basketball despite leading Gilas to silver medal finish in 2015 FIBA Asia Championship (despite not having a No. of PBA marque players), beating long time Phi basketball tormentor South Korea twice in 2021 & losing a close match vs. world powerhouse Serbia in 2021, then that's absolutely a biased, unobjective, irrational & stupid take.
it's nothing but a pure hate on Tab."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Criticism of coaches is fair but ive deleted my fair share of death wishes to Chot and Al so you can see why I prefer to remind people that the stakes in basketball is low.
Tab I obviously have my issues with but unlike some haters I do acknowledge his contributions to PH basketball. Now I disagree heavily that he can save PH basketball and I dislike him as a person but this is the U16 thread so Ill leave it at that.
