  • I just watched the SK game and we were pretty good. Any victory against SK is appreciated specially a pretty good blowout. I think we led them by almost 20 since the first.

The boys are pretty good switchable defenders. On offense they are pretty good to watch. Most guys can drive and shoot.

The press of SK was easily defeated by letting that Daja kid help the guard. He plays PF but is a pretty good decision maker when bringing up the ball. I like this kid. Seems to be another long armed undersized big but versatile. Has that one hander but seems to be a decent 3 pt shooter.

For a moment I liked the 7 Ludovice guy. For a bunch of possessions he looked like Steph. Drive, pass, relocate, bang. It was like 5 possessions that he couldnt miss from 3 except when he was undercutted. However, he missed all his shots on the right side of the court.

Talking about boy dribble, we have no. 11 Velasquez. He had some good plays but also many times he drove into nowhere.

Overall though the guys did well. Their team defense is spot on. I was really surprised that we could defeat a Korean team that well.

even Batang Gilas is level with China toe to toe, head to head is a different story though

Boy dribble Velasquez tho did Daniel Edi a 1v1 nasty with a jab, move, cross, drive, pull up swish to end the 3rd Quarter. Edi threw the ball after the buzzer sounded out of frustration

Yeah. As I said, he seems to be the latest of lanky homegrown forwards with long arms who like one handers. The difference is that he seems to be decent at 3 and is good enough to help bring up the ball when the PG is trapped. I think he's ability to break SK's press was instrumental in our breaking their defense.

Not your traditional big. And he looks quick laterally. Hope he develops into a 3 or even a 3/2. A lanky 6'4" 3/2 would be a boon.

Tbf with Velazquez, he can pass. He had a lot of nice assists in the first half. And he really is shifty, albeit not quick.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

                              • These Japs are creating mismatches inside. Need some counters.

And our shots aren't falling as much. The Japs are hustling as hard.
