    Sir Joe,
Because there is no money in our youth program.

It was exposed by one of our fellow IBNers here that the ill-fated Under teams are mostly funded by parents of the players. How sad indeed..Imagine an International bound Philippine team was not fully funded(?) by the National Federation of the Sports, Philippine Olympic Committee nor the Philippine Sports Commission, anyare??? Because as far as I know, as per by-laws those 3 entities are mandated to support financially all POC accredited NSA for as long as they submit needed documents so that the PSC are obligated to provide them the needed finances.

Naku Po!! Ewan ko Bakit Ba Ganyan. Trans. SBP are not enthusiastic about grassroot development.

You mean their flights were not funded? Any proof of the matter.

Those entities SHOULD FUNDED IT, it's mandatory now if someone post/expose that the flights are also part of the KKB thing..that's another red flag out there on those 3 entities.

I stand to be corrected on this.

I think Chooks was not involved for this ill-fated team..poor It It boys of ours, they are totally abused on that game by the Great Wall of CHI especially during that crunch time.

If and only if this is true. Some people can make up stories also. And only talking about Gilas not other under funded NSAs

              • As per by-laws all International bound Philippine National Team that will play in any official sanctioned events accredited by the World Sports bodies like FIFA, FIBA, FIVB, IAAF, FIDE among others must be financially funded(be it as whole or not) by the Philippine Sports Commission for as long as the NSA of the Sports must provide all the pertinent documents needed thus the POC must also provide some assistance as well.

                    • With this roster, honestly, nothing wrong with everybody being 6'6" and under, so long as every player in that lineup can play the perimeter comfortably on both ends, meaning we need them to be either guards (if 193cm and under) or wings.

If the taller prospects cant really walk and chew gum yet then it makes sense that they arent part of the lineup. Maybe only one or two posters here can tell for sure since most of us werent privy to the going ons in practice but Id guess that any coach would've wanted some more height.

                        • I remember how badly Caelum Harris was utilized under Josh Reyes, when I watched the previous batang Gilas stint, it's like everytime he has the ball he was expected to do some young Lebron shit. Not really surprised about losing to China, they started to lose at the 2nd half too, tatak Reyes fosho.

Santi Romeo is a starter and good contribution in St. benilde run to the NCAA jrs finals. Why wouldn't SBP fund the team? They fund every team Gilas including women. It just not make sense

Predictable set plays and no answer for the zone defense apart from take pot shots behind the arc.

If you're a serious baller in this country, GTFO as fast as you can.
