How to beat the Nuggets in 2024. Sign Kyrie Irving, and Dillon Brooks, Bring back Dwight Howard, Draft a defensive and athletic Center using their 17th overall pick aka Jokic Stopper". Next Year the Lakers are going to be much better in the regular season and playoffs. Kareem Abdul Jabbar was 40 and 41 years old when he won his 5th and 6th championship

Yes with Nugget's ascension to the Finals, teams will need to recruit one bruiser to help defend him. Tristan Thompson got his first mnutes ever just to put a body on him.
On a side note. I was wondeing why Hachimura did not post up Murray every time he got mstched up against him. TT got a foul by sealing Murray. Hachimura could have done this a couple of times.

Jokic and Luka showing us another pathway to basketball excellence not requiring superb athletic ability. Jokic has superb stamina and strength but you could say he is below average in athleticism among NBA centers. But the guy is showing us that below average athleticism and speed in the center spot is not a requirement to excel. Or course it took him a lot of tries but with a good team around him the Nuggets have looked dominant in the playoffs.
Jokic is showing us that the slow strong big is not extinct in the NBA you have to be just more skilled and have superior BBIQ. The slowness of his body is more than made up by how quick his mind processes plays. Also, he may not be an excellent rim protector but with his length and strength it is not that easy to score layups against him. Just ask AD and Hachimura.
Also, with his "slow" game. It doesn't seem his level will change anytime soon. He barely runs, barely jumps. Barring any freak accident he is unlikely to get any injury. So unless teams find a way to match up against him this might not be the last Finals we will see him.

Denver beat Phoenix 4-2. Jokic did great, but we were beaten by Murray and the quality mins of the other guys. I do not think there is 1 player who can control, not beat, Jokic in a 7 game series. his strength has always been his ability to make plays for himself and his teammate. same with the LAL series, all eyes where on Jokic and he did great, but Murray and Gordon did a lot of damage too. KCP and Brown are also stepping up whenever needed.

Luka could make another jump if only he takes his conditioning seriously..

As much as i love Jimmy to win his first ring but i think Denver might have the edge here given their depth.
