Pop’s tenure with Spurs is further extended when they won the lottery. To maximise Wemby, Popovich must sign a veteran pass first PG. Keeping both Devonte and Tre I believe would not do good. They must get rid at least one of them.
Yup i agree both Tre and Graham are at best backup PG's would not use cap space on both of them, (just one ) , the Spurs have done great deal with the Blazers, Portland picking 3rd (rumored to be Scoot) and having Lilliard may want to make a change and help the Spurs via trade LOL. I'm not sure if a ball heavy PG will fit , Sochan proved to be a capable quarterback.
Jordan Clarkson should opt-out with Jazz. I hope Pop will catch his attention on him. I believe JC is a perfect fit for Spurs. He can keep his sixth man role, a spark plug off the bench. Can play as PG in short stretches. He is comfortable being 3rd option and lower as he was in the past with Lakers and Cavs. Can provide veteran leadership and to top he grew up from San Antonio area. He can draw more fans. If he ever suit up for Philippines, not much hindrance as San Antonio management and Popovich are quite amenable with their players’ availability in their national teams.
Does winning the Lottery change offseason plans? Will Wembanyama be able to carry an NBA team to the playoffs as a rookie? Should they make a big swing and add more talent around the number one pick in an attempt to compete for championships immediately, or will they take a more methodical approach and allow the speed of Wemby’s development to determine the pace at which they add free agents around him?
To me it will take minimum of 2 years before Victor is at an All NBA team level player, so it makes sense to time recruiting high paying free agents only in around the 25/26 season.

You're a true blood Spurs fan aahhhh... But you know NBA these days... It's players' league right now... If Spurs can't win a championship w/ Wemby after 7 years max then for sure Wemby will go to a team that has chance to win a title plus A bigger market teams such as LAKERS, KNICKS or WARRIORS... That's the trend right now in NBA and it will not change since NBA is a players' league...

My guess is they will take more of a methodical approach (i see the Spurs as a conservative organization lol), for sure free agent superstars will want to sign with the Spurs and team up with Wemby down the line
Lakers still win bro in this series... I'm confident about that...
having Rui defending Jokic and AD as weak side defender posted problems for the nuggets offense and almost cost them game 1, really interesting on what adjustment the Nuggets coach will do

If Lakers able to beat the supposed favorites GSW last series then it should be for them to beat the Nuggets... If not then coach Ham might be replaced and LeBron's championship no.5 dreams will just only a dream...

first off, it sucks that Wemby is going to Spurs because I am a Suns fan.
however, because I know what a potential player Wemby can be, I am actually happy Coach Pop will spend a few years with him.
just to add my thought which isnt any different to anyone who has any idea how Spurs org does things, they will do a 1 year feel it out process, and really plan things from there. if roster stays the same but with Wemby, they will most likely not be a play in team though they'll be sniffy for it. why? playmaking and shooting is sorely lacking. Another area is defense that Wemby (and a year more experienced Sochan and Vassell) will change overnight.
whether Dave's prediction below becomes true or not, i hope they extend Jones to a decent team friendly contract and sign a veteran who can help the team be better but really hand hold Wemby in the court. i dont know the cap space Spurs has but i think they can sign for almost 2 max contracts. i doubt they'll sign a long term superstar this coming off season unless its on a discount. but they'll sure add veterans to hopefully accelerate the development of Sochan and Wemby. not necessarily compete for a chip. if they enter playin\off, sure. they will not tank anymore but they wont go crazy and sign Harden and Middleton. or we can be wrong and they sign Kyrie. highly unlikely, but i hope they do as a Suns fan
