  • I didnt watch the game. But from the highlights BWs import doesnt seem to be a rim protector. He had 8 asts. But I think against a big team like Bay Dragons you need a rim protector. I dont think they will score this big a lead against better defending imports. I get why SMB got a traditional big. JMF will have a hard time against this team.

Not sure GSM can compete even with Malonzo. It gets harder for Brownlee to carry them against bigger imports. But I guess its an audition of sorts

three quick fouls on all the starters of Bay Area before the end of the 1st half will destroy that OP status. haha unless the bench players of Bay Area are also at the level of their starters.

that could easily destroy the Dragon's rhythm early on, especially if Powell and Duncan will be targeted at 1st quarter. That's why I'm curious to see this team against SMB, TNT and GSM, if Bay Area can easily trash this team, chances are no amount of ref magic will work

And the Dragons winning might introduce drastic changes to the PBA's systems.

Hoops Highlights mentioned the impact of a pace-and-space offense: https://twitter.com/izeizeflo/status...6Hh4sTpbQ&s=19

Ryan Alba mentioned the great team defense that the Dragons are playing: https://twitter.com/_alba__/status/1...Hc703mG4A&s=19

Ryan also mentioned the fact that PBA teams ignore corner threes and set their offenses late in the clock: https://twitter.com/_alba__/status/1...ldN7IfzZg&s=19

The players need to get used to it for our newer Gilas teams to not be surprised in the international stage, and we won't give up shootouts.

this, exposure to different type of offenses aside form the usual ISOs and post up (the default PBA plays) will benefit PBA in the long run, painful to see BWB camping in the post anticipating that the Dragons will either drive or post up.

Let's see how the top PBA teams will defend the dragons, especially Meralco and Magnolia

MERALCO and Mags actually have the defenses best fit against international teams, although they do play a little more physical. RoS is a decent defensive team as well.

Mags, Meralco and ROS IMHO the only teams active to defend the perimeter, let's see if Ayo can instill his defensive schemes in Converge ASAP. while the rest of the league seems to give up defending the 3 point lane, especially the corner three. Case of point, LA Tenorio's body language once the ball goes to the open man at the 3 point line

TNT did have that in 2020-21, but I don't know if they still defend well nowadays.

                          • All this time I thought Blatche was just not willing to play in the PBA, but it's the PBA itself pala stopping him from playing?

                            What the eff.

i think in 2019 he was supposed to play as a import for NLEX as part of the preparation for the 2019 WC, but the board (SMC bloc ehem) blocked the proposal. he also reiterated his desire to play back in 2021

After years of waiting, Andray Blatche will get to play as an import in the PBA. Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation have told Tiebreaker Times that Blatche will suit up for the NLEX Road Warriors as their import if Gilas Pilipinas qualifies for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. The development was first reported by […]

MANILA, Philippines—Former Gilas standout Andray Blatche dropped hints that he’d like to play in the PBA, replying to one of the league’s Twitter posts on Sunday. “I wanna come play,”

Both naturalized Filipinos Marcus Douthit and Andray Blatche are calling for the Philippine Basketball Association to relax their rules on player eligibility regarding naturalized Filipinos. Last Sunday, the 35-year-old Blatche was keeping tabs on the TNT-Rain or Shine game. The 6-foot-11 stretch big man suddenly tweeted, “I wanna come play.” I wanna come play — […]

PBA is just too toxic & counter productive. I couldn't think of any professional basketball league as toxic as the PBA.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
