From the video its a player from the other team who first started swinging. Dunno what happened before that though and the players involved (Jalalon, Quinahan, Belga) aren't exactly choir boys.

The PBA has already been notified of the incident especially with the players involved still having a live contract with their respective mother ballclubs.

Belga and Quinahan were both playing under the team Northball along with Robert Bolick of NorthPort and Magnolia's Jio Jalalon.


The match was held in Carmen, Cebu and pitted Northball vs. Sirius Star. Northball is a Cebu-based team composed of Cebuano All-Stars, while Sirius Star is a team of streetball players from the US.

Sirius was leading the game, 93-81, with 4:37 left in the final period when the episode happened.

The exhibition game was made possible by Northball, the same group that promotes the basketball tour of Mavs Phenomenal.

The game was eventually abandoned following the skirmish.

It’s still uncertain whether the second of the two-game exhibition series slated in Mandaue Sunday night will still push through.

the court/ condition of the arena, (concrete, no air conditioning) would make insurance companies and team governors very nervous.

there’s a video circulating in socmed which shows jalalon, belga and quinahan involved in a ligang labas game in Cebu that eventually end into a riot. The opposing team was composed of foreigners.

Thats really risky. Like one play by the opposition and its over. In fact in the end of the fourth quarter Sangalang gave a bad pass which couldve led to a regulation win for San Miguel and Mags covering the spread.

I started to despise Sangalang more because of that series. He acted like a fake tough guy and was playing to hurt Junemar. Dude acts tough when he is protected by the refs but plays scared in FIBA.

Sangalang never had the heart to play for flag & country. Napilitan lang yan maglaro during the few times he played for Gilas. And he hardly made any impact.

Being a JMF/SMB fan I watched that series. Ian got a lot of leeway just so he could match-up with JMF. There is no way prime JMF could be stopped by Sanggalang unless the refs swallowed their whistle to allow him to mug JMF. The way I saw it, the Mags were never going to win if they made the calls fairly. Yes, Sanggalang had that weird game. But so what. They were never going to win it. If anything the calls were unfavorable to SMB just to make the series interesting.

Well, money still money... You can't deny that huge amount especially if they will promised you that they will not been exposed with that... Remember, Beasley, Bledseo and Blankley are big name NBA players but they still involved in game fixing in CBA... they have also big salary in China... But mafia and those gambling lords are lording over in these underground betting gambling in sports... They can kill you if they will not follow their want... That's why you should not involved in that shenigans...
