    • we may not like the Snow guy , but he has a point.

Yeng's mindset , which same school of though is shared by some IBN members has been the problem ever since , it's insular mindset. the Paradigm of protectionism and the system of how the PBA does things really needs change..

And likewise the fans paradigm (some in IBN) have to change! Don't limit change needed!

      • JF said he needed to improve in the perimeter because "hindi mo puwede banggain lahat". Trans: you cant always score on the inside. While self evident, SMB always wanted him to play in the inside. Even now his body looks bigger than when the season started. BADs Lu is 7'5 something but you see that for his height he is not that heavy. Most tall players maintain a lighter weight for defensive mobility. Only JF was the opposite because SMB needed him to play inside. Before his injury he became so slow that even is college coaches said he wasnt that slow before. So in a way it is a subtle jab at how SMB used him, as a big wrecking ball on offense but slow on defense.

The problem of PBA (PHL's PRO league) is that they didn't embraced globalization.. They were living into the old mindset, They should take the opportunity to get some revenues even atleast in ASEAN region, by tapping some of ASEAN top players (Dierker, Jawato, Lamb, etc...) or invite club teams or their national teams... Basketball market in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc... are rising and they are now showing interest to the sport... PBA didn't see this... they were contended on their local market, w/c is not rising anymore and worst part is that the interest of the fans slowly decreasing... So how should PBA bounce back on the revenues? Then explore new markets outside the country...

In Indonesia, although small sample size, the interest of fan following of the sport is about 48% of their population.. That is already half of the population of Indonesia.. They are 280 million population and if compute, It will gathered atleast 120 - 130 million basketball fans in Indonesia... Imagine Jawato or Prastawa or Grahita invited to play in the PBA as Asian imports or their national team invited to play in the PBA as guest team... PBA will surely increase their viewership because Indonesians will follow their favorite local players here... Maybe not all but atleast 5% of that total basketball fans on Indonesians watching PBA, The league will gather some increase viewership due to Indonesians and after that, revenue will follow...

I'd like PBA along with ABL, IBL, VBL, and other ASEAN leagues to form a champions' tournament similar to EASL. They could just copy the EASL 8-club model that was supposed to be implemented this year, market it as the second-tier regional tournament in East Asia, with the champion as the representative of SEA region outside of PBA finalists, for the annual EASL tournament (this would need EASL approval though). I think it could make a significant impact on viewership and basketball following in the SEA region, overall global, owing to the combined close to 200M fans from PHL and INA.

            • Barangay ginebra is against the Hong Kong men's senior national basketball team that is the bay area dragons.

Blankley, Glen yang, kobe lam, zhu songwei and import Nicholson will surely put up a gallant stand as they face the beloved pba team ginebra.

I remember i mentioned that SMB should be flexible on their plays in regards on fajardo.. people didnt like the idea though.. what is 3-4 3 pt attempts? And the coach should teach or help JF improved his perimeter D and people didnt like it either

Some people here doesn't like JFs weaknesses being mentioned. I remember there was a pretty heated discussion about JF being a top 10 C in Asia. There were some really hot takes there. Hell remember when people where debating the claim that SMB would be a top 4 team in the NBL?

I think Japeth and Junmar are the PBA Players who were always mentioned here in IBN that was developed wrong.

Some IBNers said that Japeth should have Played and Developed as a 3 or SF.

Same way, Some IBNers suggested that Junmar should have added a decent perimeter game in his arsenal.

Well, Goorijan did say that SMB would be a top 4 team in the NBL. Same with TNT.

                        • The entry of Gray and Malonzo was a big help for BGK. Ginebra is one of the few teams with the height and length at the perimeter to match up with BAD.

Also, Iskati is something else. The sheer brass balls to post up a guy at least 2 inches taller and heavier than you (Kobe Lam) and still getting the bucket or the foul.

And it did take Lam's rhythm off after a hot start

I remember that we had a debate on JF when 2017 Asian cup has held. You said JF mimic Hadadi taking 3pt.When I point out Hadadi in that tournament was 0 out of 7, you went Silent.

I do agree with JF can take 3s but his lack of athleticsm and not able to drive to the basket will make closing out on him easy. Unlike Nicolson or RDO who can drive to the basket. We need a Offensive rebounder and inside presence more than a 5th shooter. More beneficial.
Ginebra have two bigs who don't shoot the 3pt and the finalist in last year NBA have also non 3pt shooting centers. See it can work 4 out is better for us in my opinion.

Scottie is making a case for Gilas World Cup imo.

Before Scottie played for Gilas last Window.

We always name Kiefer, Bolick, RJ, and even Dalph and Juan to be PG Candidates.

But now, Scottie has put up his name there if not the main ones.

I think Scottie Kief, and Bolick are the 3 PGs that will be in consideration for 2023 WC
