Because of the profile of players for the US (many 3rd or 4th generation) many Fil ams find it hard to secure passports.

The profile of Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Canadian (more recent migrants 1st or 2nd generation) tend to be able to secure passports before 16 ( not all.of course )

Some of the prospects ( provided school is finsih and are graduated) can go straight to a Philippine college right after NBTC and stay behind in Mnaila. So in essence we're litterarally delivering the Kid to the school (college )

i love this. the recruitments really made UAAP competitive. we now dont see ateneo dominate each time. it drove the competitive level so high. so many skilled players now.

Speaking of Ateneo, their juniors team seems to be very weak now and would probably be one of the weakest in the UAAP jrs. Watching their games in the UBL, their decent players are only Nieto and Porter. I wonder what this would mean to their basketball program as a whole.

With the likes of Sage Tolentino, QMB, Ron Harper Jr.(already a PH Passport holder?), DJ Fenner, Scuba Holt, Kamaka Hepa, Vyc Miller and Jalen Gree are just a few on that many long list. I hope with the dedication and endeavor of Fil-Am Nation Select and those other Fil-Foreign Sports Organization not only from the US but also from Europe may somehow educate the parents and guardians that securing a PH Pass for their kid(s) will be beneficial to them. As I always said many times before that the more options they have the better moving forward.

I hope this time there be no more hiccups....

MANILA, Philippines – The best of the best Filipino high school players here and abroad will converge once more inside the Mall of Asia Arena from March 15-19 in the 2023 NBTC National Finals and All-Star Game.

"Finally, after a three-year wait, the stage is set for young Filipino talent to shine again. We're very much excited for our tournament to prove that Philippine grassroots basketball is alive and well," said NBTC Program Director Eric Altamirano.

I've been posted this before that hopefully there will be a girls and women category on each NBTC festivities, now it become a reality..

MANILA, Philippines – The National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) puts the spotlight on girls basketball this year as it will hold its first-ever high school girls basketball tournament.

In partnership with Fil-Am Nation Select, the NBTC will hold the Smart-NBTC Girls Have Next, where eight high school teams will battle it out in NBTC's return from a three-year hiatus.

The teams, led by traditional powerhouse Nazareth School of National University, will play their games from March 15 to 17 at Pretty HUGE in Taguig before culminating with the championship at Mall of Asia Arena on March 19, the same day the National Finals and the All-Star Game will be played as well.

Joining NU Nazareth are Fil-Am Nation Select, University of Santo Tomas, Miriam College, La Salle Antipolo, La Filipina blue Fire, Queen Anne School-Sta. Rosa, and One Ibajay-Aklan.

thats nice. hopefully the kids feel happy that the work they put in is paying off having offers.
