  • Wass only needs to secure a two-way contract similar to Jay Huff and let Kai play in the Gleague. NBA court and rules are way favorable to Kai. As long as his teammates wont outcast Kai, he will be okay in the Gleague. After everything, the ideal route for Kai was to continue playing in TSF and just play in the world youth tournaments. He should have gotten the KMART Jr route. He was ranked late first at that time. It was unfortunate that Kai was not able to play against Chet and Victor in world youth games.

I mentioned Coach Goldwin. I'm not saying all Pinoy coaches, I'm saying most, and that includes most, if not all, coaches in the PBA.

I only want to know the point of view of a person who see thw PBA being outdated. Like how I discuss the matter of close outs of PBA teams with IPC. Thats all.

I also echo what other decorated coach has said about PBA coaches like Rajko, Goorjian. I see the plays and they are not outdated.
To me, monkey see monkey do is not updated. If Chot can beat 10 other teams while losing to a team we historically beat, it doesn't reflect well on the PBA.

It's the truth. A few years back and we had NTs play against SEA NT with smatterings of high schoolers. It was even a boasting point that we sent "college players" in the recent FIBA. If it was fair for Pinoys to do that back then, then it's also fair for me to say that.

Both politics and greed (by Joel Bell). The damage has been done. If CJ gets a change of heart then I'm very willing to be wrong.

Playing time and coach chot will not be a problem for him.

Therefore, his fate will be in his own hands by that time.
I dont think it will be his last card although it will be a great opportunity to have longer playing time and exposure.

I feel they will make a hard push next year by joining the NBA Summer League and maybe the G League in front of the NBA people.

And that will not even be the last push...

Timeline will be the next 5 years. If he's not in the league by 25 y/o then thats it...

Probably yes since in general players peak is at range of the 25 to 30 yrs old then performance starts to decline bit by bit.

If Kai will play in November FIBA window and if he can carry this gilas team to a 2-0 record by being the focal point of offense and defense of chot reyes.

Then, maybe CJ will take Kai's game seriously and his impact that he can bring to 36ers import laden team.

But first, Chot, wasserman and CJ needs to agree for the release of Kai for Gilas November games.

Well, not just Philippine bigs but most Asian bigs in general are more of a traditional low post bigs. They're old and needs coaching upgrade haha.

For me, Wemby's success will raise Kai's stock value since he has a comparable height with Wemby.

Kai is mobile enough to stay in front of Wemby, be it in the perimeter or in the shaded area.

Look at Orlando Magic, I think they're preparing for the next big thing.

Their roster has a lot of bigs and they are playing not just decoration.

I'm going to watch Magic every time they're playing.

Huh?! We might be speaking of a different Kai then. If he is quick enough to stay in from of Wembe, then he can be in the NBA as early as now. That's NOT my kababayan. Have you even seen them play? I love your optimism and support for Kai, but stay with reality.

He can/has a chance to make the NBA, but not the route you are Fantasizing. More like a 2nd string Big once he develops some muscles and realize the game he is trying to emulate is not suitable for his Physical limitations. Boban would be an ideal comparison.

Haha Boban talaga? You kidding me haha.

Agree on the second string center.

Zho Qi is still better than Kai. I think Zho is the best center in Asia right now including Australia and New Zealand.

I am not fantasizing about Kai. We just have different perspective and way of looking Kai's game.

Maybe you look at Kai now like he is 30 yrs old already on his prime haha.

Another thing, don't speak to me like you know me.

And don't attack me personally. I respect your opinion you should respect mine. If you can't stand the way I look a things bout Kai.

JUST IGNORE MY THOUGHT IN THIS THREAD. We good?

And for now, the card at play would be his performance in 36ers practices/scrimmages, he needs to earn the trust of this teammates and the coaching staff for him to get playing time. This is unlike Gilas wherein he is the de facto best big, in his NBL team he had to compete with veterans and way better players

So many opportunities squandered SMH. They fumbled some career altering decisions. There's still hope as he's only 20 but why do I feel like he needs a lot of polish in his game. And he really needs to convince CJ to give him more PT. Or outright outplay the other bigs in practice that he won't be able to ignore him.

                          • SJ is having a great game today - 8 pts, 6 asts, 5 rebs, 4/5 fgs, 10 mins.

Just committed 3 fouls and the first half has yet to finish.

Much better use the SEAG for training ground for cadets....
You're getting me wrong, I'm not disrespecting the Indonesians...it's that they beat us with a high schooler in their roster, they can brag about it because we did. I wonder why I can't say that, a few years ago my fellow Filipinos were happy with Kiefer Ravena shooting buzzer beaters against Thailand NT.

Kai for some reason is neutered. He doesn't have the game sense. My harshest criticism of him to date. It's like he's stuck in 2nd gear, reminds me of Ayton who wasn't willing to dunk for momentum which is why the criticism of him back then was that he was soft. For Kai, when he gets the ball the first move he defaults to is putting the ball down on the floor, which is easy pickings for a scouting report since they know he can't back his guard down.

I know our boy has loads of potential, but incompetent politics and decisions are making him run in place.
