It just enforces the notion that the PBA should be lower in their options. It started with the money, and now, how the PBA's handling the Navarro situation.

Oh wait that was the Gleague, and didnt the Cavs (tama ba?) offered him a development contract
if ever he goes to the G-league, he still won't get the minutes he wants, the minutes will go to those top prospects vying for the draft.

I think he is already in a perfect situation in the NBL, but he needs to work on the things that the coach needs in order for the team to win - Kai should have a role player's mentality, concentrate on the basics first. Once he has those tools the minutes will follow

Its mostly the money. Lets say Filbasket is better run than the PBA. Will anyone big go to Filbasket?

        • Nakakainis lang yung case ni Christian David. IIRC it was his dad or his sister that, when asked if they were planning to get him a Filipino passport before he turned sixteen, arrogantly answered, "He's Canadian," because at that time he was being eyed by the Canadian U16 team.

Well, I guess you're Pinoy now, boy.

I hope someone in the media asks him about this. Lets see if he has learned or if he is an ass like his family. Nothing like a career 1.7 ppg to bring you back to earth.

Yup. The arrogance. He has the right though. But it's funny now he is using his Filipino lineage because he can earn money.

I thought it was Christian himself who said that "I'm Canadian".

A few years back, Yeng Guiao hosted him and his family, I think Yeng and his dad have known each other since way back, and he basically showed him the local hoop scenes.. Maybe that visit swayed him.

But i think it more of taking advantage of the opportunity presented to him NOW, having Filipino ancestry, and can play as a pro in Korea, which pays higher than the PBA. How convenient for him. Walang kahirap hirap

Maybe PBA wants some form of compensation or some sort of a transfer fee from BLeague whenever they sign someone from the PBA. Or if college player, a finder's fee. LOL

So like most of the ineligibles? You think they'll even consider the Philippines an option if they have a half decent career abroad?

Some of them like Chris Ross learn the culture simply because of their time here. I wonder how that works out for those based abroad.

Was there really an offer? He should have grabbed it. Look at Dusty who everyone thought wasn't even better than PBA guards. He somehow managed to do alright. I hope this wasted opportunities don't bite him.in the ass.

What's up with the limited minutes in preseason? CJ doesn't like what he sees in practice?

QMB, Hepa, Remy, maybe Sage are half-heritage and are ineligible to play in the KBL like the case of Bolick. So either they toil in the minor leagues in Mexico and the DR, or be a god in the PHL, its up to them.

not really sure if there was a offer, kai's previous management was shady AF. anyway pointless to dwell.on the past, Kai just needs to maximize whatever playing tine is given to him,

But he was eligible right? He was offered a slot to the PH team at a young age but they refused because they wanted to join the Canadian team. He visited here a few years ago and he didnt say he wanted to join the PBA. He had no interest in being involved with PH basketball. Now he is joining a team because of his Filipino roots. Ineligibles can be forgiven because some of them dont even have PH roots. Davids family just chose to walkaway from their PH roots but now use it because it is convenient.

Hepa's father doesnt even know much of his PH roots. They consider themselves Hawaiian rather than Filipino. David family probably consider themselves Canadians and not Filipinos.
