Of course the coach will first save his ass by making sure he wins games over than trying to develop a player and lose games.

Kai just have to prove to the team that he is more valuable over the other bigs when he is inside.
Its just sad to see that it seems like Hyrum Harris and Nick Marshall has overtaken him in the minutes ladder.

He must play harder on defense. Try to mix it under the paint more by contesting all shots inside while hes on the floor.
And on offense show that he has a reliable jumpshot and post move...
He cant just rely on alley hoop passes and pick and roll opportunities...
True, It's really hard to field in a player who lacks a lot of BASIC skills a modern big man should possess. I think Adelaide would love to field in Kai but at the end of the day, Kai has to fix the bare minimum skills needed to earn him the minutes everyone craves for, and it has to start at practice and on the 12 to 15 minutes he is in the floor - consistently

He's the size of a Korean guard without the speed or handles. I think SK will pass. Maybe his 6'5 teammate.

There's time to sign the likes of Quiambao and Carl, then.
Seoul Samsung has decided to move on from William Navarro. The Thunders have instead signed Filipino-Canadian Christian David as their Asian Quota player. Samsung made the announcement on Thursday. David, 24, is a 6-foot-6 bruiser. He graduated from Butler University with a degree in Marketing and International Business. Looks like it's Christian David. Looks like KBL is primarily recruiting only pinoy hoopers. Will Navarro is stuck here until his contract ends next year.

          • Preseason games, guys. You don’t read much into it. Acouth is getting minutes, something that might not be routine come season proper. Harris and Galloway are solid players, but they are not what I would call stars that would command a 20mpg role. I’d be the first to admit that Kai’s minutes would be far from guaranteed, but he should have a defined role this season even if everyone’s healthy.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Why hasn't Christian David entered the PBA yet?

The reality of it is each player has his own agent trying to get the best for their player's interest and talked it out with Cj and management. Cleveland has his own agent, Franks his own, Harris, etc etc... jockying up for minutes and exposure. Kai is nothing special whoever his agent is.

After a disappointing run last season CJs focus is to win games, hence they brought a formidable line up at least on paper, player development comes in second.
Its really up to what Kai can bring on the table over the other bigs that will earn him minutes.

After, I hope that Taiwan is still looking Asian players to be signed. There are still 10 of them I think.

                  • it would be a career changer if anyone pinoy imports would be benched we dont want another jgdl, jawato and Kobe(In creighton) situation
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

well, most NBA teams bench foreign players depending on their game strategy.

Implying that CJ's focus was never to win games the moment he got the job. CJ was always about winning, and not in the general sense, but in the sense that Kai will only play a few mins in Blitz, have no minutes early on in the season, then fill in major minutes if there's no chance to get into the playoffs. He's not doing anything different from last season.

It's the usual delusion atop their ivory thrones. The fact that overseas Filam players aren't looking towards PBA anymore speaks volumes
