Exactly. Kai is not showing enough and not good enough to be a starter now at Adelaide. He still has deficiencies that needs to be improved and developed. He has to EARN his playing minutes starting at the practices. It is Kai that needs to adjust and not Adelaide.

It might be a hard pill to swallow but this is how it is.

You cant expect CJ to field in Kai for the sake of satisfying his followers over them winning games with DJ, Franks and even Harris inside.
Of course the coach will first save his ass by making sure he wins games over than trying to develop a player and lose games.

Kai just have to prove to the team that he is more valuable over the other bigs when he is inside.
Its just sad to see that it seems like Hyrum Harris and Nick Marshall has overtaken him in the minutes ladder.

He must play harder on defense. Try to mix it under the paint more by contesting all shots inside while hes on the floor.
And on offense show that he has a reliable jumpshot and post move...
He cant just rely on alley hoop passes and pick and roll opportunities...

True, It's really hard to field in a player who lacks a lot of BASIC skills a modern big man should possess. I think Adelaide would love to field in Kai but at the end of the day, Kai has to fix the bare minimum skills needed to earn him the minutes everyone craves for, and it has to start at practice and on the 12 to 15 minutes he is in the floor - consistently

Preseason games, guys. You don’t read much into it. Acouth is getting minutes, something that might not be routine come season proper. Harris and Galloway are solid players, but they are not what I would call stars that would command a 20mpg role. I’d be the first to admit that Kai’s minutes would be far from guaranteed, but he should have a defined role this season even if everyone’s healthy.

After a disappointing run last season CJs focus is to win games, hence they brought a formidable line up at least on paper, player development comes in second.
Its really up to what Kai can bring on the table over the other bigs that will earn him minutes.

Implying that CJ's focus was never to win games the moment he got the job. CJ was always about winning, and not in the general sense, but in the sense that Kai will only play a few mins in Blitz, have no minutes early on in the season, then fill in major minutes if there's no chance to get into the playoffs. He's not doing anything different from last season.

embarrassing isnt it? PBA thin king that they have first dibs on every local player in the country. And the irony is once the hype dies down, they'll just easily discard said prospect and move to another.

It's the usual delusion atop their ivory thrones. The fact that overseas Filam players aren't looking towards PBA anymore speaks volumes
