Originally posted by kingkaihe was great on the defensive end, showing hard, hedging hard, going back and rotate on the defensive rotation fast enough, contesting and altering shots. i give kai 10 of 10 on the defensive end. while DJ i give him 1 of 10 hahaha.. As for his offense, he had 4 turnovers, i saw two position wherein he as double teamed and commit turnovers. Unfortunately he had a tough night and it seems they had a defensive plan for sotto whenever he touches the ball. while the other two turnovers were due to very hard defense on him at the top arc where he was forced to only dribble two and didn't get enough space dribble and or to pass the ball and commit travel call. The other one was offensive call after rebounding the ball. Possible a bad call by the ref..but it is what it is. They are all adjusting how the ref calls due to new implemented rules by the NBL. I give Kai 5 of 10 for his offense although he is 1 of 1 or 100% in his attempt he still committed 4 turnovers in just 14 minutes of playing time. HOW BOUT YOU? What's your opinion?

I mean what's the difference between Kai Sotto playing in NBL-Australia & a Thirdy Ravena playing in the B-league? Pareho namang overseas leagues yun."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Compares to us? Probably. Can we defeat that lineup with Kai plus JC?

On defence he's doing a lot better than what people were expecting. It's the opposite though on offence. He's supposed to be more advanced and skilled than what he's shown so far especially when posting up.

Kai has weak lower body strength. Realistically not really gonna be a dominant post up big. His 3pt shooting still needs work. The team seem to have him basically as a pnr roll to the rim lob threat rather than give him the ball and letting him create. Defensively you can see he’s showing more, doing hard hedges but his footspeed and recovery of getting back to his man isn’t great but at least gives him a better chance in the pnr instead of dropping. His best game so far was in the first match where I believe they got blown out by the other team.
