I guess Kai and his handlers can’t move on and accept that they were not given invitation to the NBA Draft Combine. That is why they are re-creating and re-enacting these combine drills. lol

There are over a hundred players given invitations to the NBA Draft Combine and G-League Elite Camp. These guys are way ahead of Kai in the eyes of NBA GMs and scouts. That is probably why Kai was not given any invitation.

damn, days after the draft we were all debating if Kai should play for Gilas or accept a Summer League invite, who would have thought that his entourage would choose neither, now the kid is stuck simulating those predraft work outs!

      • Kai and his handlers went beyond ridiculous. He might not suit up for next year at all, management claiming more predraft workouts is needed.

        • Kai could have boosted his stock in FIBA Asia. His entire team are dumb@sses.

At least on his way out Bell knew the right thing and make it look that ewp was the one that is wrong

And imo I believe they are, fontecchio was signed by an nba team at 26 kai just turned 20..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
            1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

            • Kai should have gone for Gilas. This is what he will do for now? Training all year round without playing an actual game? It seems like EWP is using Kai for a show. I mean like a toy collector who is not playing his toy collections but merely displays it.

                • when you think things could not go worse, EWP says "hold my beer" and proceeds to further damage Kai's future with another series of bad decisions. Hopefully the sacking of Bell would lead to something

                  • Now matter how long Kai trains, if he plays no actual games, it's useless.

and he could actually squeeze in those trainings while in the summer league or with gilas

                      • EWP is just as shortsighted as Kai's family. If they had done things right, Kai might have ended up in the NBA where they can earn a whole lot more from him.

Instead, like Kai's family, they are too focused on the instant/short-term incomes. Typical Pinoy mentality.

ervin should have been an active stage father. because that is his breadwinner after all. he should be involved in negotiations or trainings. being a former pro player IMO, he should at least laced up his shoes and help kai in his workouts.

He recalled how players during his time, especially the bigs, would do cross-training alongside some of country’s top tracksters to develop their speed.

Paner disclosed the time he tried to develop his quickness by training with Asian Games veteran and Olympian sprinter Rogelio ‘Roger’ Onofre, a two-time Asiad gold medalist as part of the men’s 4x100 meter relay team, who was part of the latest batch of inductees to the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame.

“Sa 100-meter [dash], ang naging time ko 11.5 seconds,” said the 6-foot-2 Cebuano.

With the absence of seasonal sport in the Philippines, then cross training should be encourage, even if its just recreational. You would think a PG/SG/Sf would dabble in track and field during their off season for an allover conditioning purpose at least.Heck I would recommend volleyball too.Americans doesn't get too impressed with 2 sports, now if you're talking 3 to 4 sports a season during HS or college years now that's impressive.

                              • I had no qualms nor concern about Kai’s none participation on the on-going FIBA Asia Cup despite many of us despising his management team and in some extent his own family(?) on the decisions on why they turned down(?) the offer to play even in the Summer League as an opportunity to showcase his stuff despite that snub in the recently concluded D-Day. But on the otherside of the narrative I think doing those NFL type of training workout is a good first step to build on something that he thinks are the missing pieces in his core to be able to reach that certain optimum level for that dream NBA spot.
