  • It's amazing how Kai's management keep bunglimg any chances of exposure and playing. Use it or lose it.

    • Joel Bell is now unaffiliated with Kai? How about EWP, are they still in charge of Kai?

      • I think EWP is his management team, which is in charge of his marketing, scheduling, workouts, etc. Joel Bell and now Wasserman, reps him with regards to NBA affairs.

        The way i see it:
        Kai = Bo Cruz
        EWP = Adam Sandler's Stanley Sugerman ( though he's more of a scout, but he stands as Bo's go-between with the agents)
        Wasserman = Kenny Smith's Leon Rich ( the agent that has super connections / pull and influence with the NBA GMs and execs, that Sugerman doesnt have)

          far out! EWP still win-win in this kind of set-up as they make more money. Kai has no control of this one not unless he wants to get directed to reliable agent.

          • As long as EWP is still there, I don’t think things will change. EWP is still part of the decision-making process. Two management agencies handling one athlete. It sounds awkward.

                Ang problema kasi baka magmahal presyo ni kai for Gilas

                Trans: But what mainstream Pinoy and ibn wants is for Kai to set foot in nba, even if its a 10 day contract
                To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

                • Kai might as well be an artista if his management csres only about money than his development

                      plus they invested too much for kai to let him simply walk away, they need to recoup their investments (ehem kaiju academy)

                      • They have not made it public which agent from Wasserman will handle the “Kai Sotto Account”.

                          he is already expensive. with all those personalized trainings they need to recoup their investment. tbh, i wouldnt be surprised if kai wont be able to play in 2023.

                            • In hindsight, looks like EWP got cheap on Kai, as far as agency is concerned. Remember, Bell wasn’t the first agency linked with Kai when he was just starting his US journey. Maybe the agency wanted a higher paycut. EWP practically (pun intended) SETTLED for Bell.

                              This is a humbling experience for both Kai and his handlers. Might be a blessing in disguise, to temper expectations and build from the ground up.
                              Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

                                Pinoys always go for great value deals. Too bad great value doesn't necessarily mean quality.
